"Mama Hazel, can we draw more pictures today? I want to create a whole world of adventures like in my dreams!" Mama Hazel's eyes twinkled with delight. "Of course, Theo! Let's bring your dreams to life on paper and fill our day with colors, stories, and endless possibilities." And so, as the new day unfolded, Theo and Mama Hazel embarked on another artistic adventure, their crayons dancing across the paper to create a world where dreams and reality intertwined, where love and imagination knew no bounds.

Saying he'd take care of the rest. I make my way to the lving room, bags in hand. "Ok Loretta, please.... Make sure Aiden eats and is not all day on those games."I say to her as grandpa Phill and Aiden sit in my living room playing video games on their Xbox device. He gets completely lost in his world when he's playing in those things. Loretta laughs, as we both glance at them. She sighs shaking her head. "I don't know who's the kid here. Look at them? Completely lost in that game." She says while placing her hand on her hip and shaking her head in amusement.

She’d taken an interest in drawing lately, and it had stuck more than her previous interests had. But then again, she’s only five. There was plenty of time for her to find herself yet. “This is me, this is Mommy, this is Daddy, this is you Uncle Kells, and Aunt Gemi, Simon, Sawyer and Sadie,” she frowns. “I couldn’t draw Uncle Haden and Aunt Gemi big, so they are small.” She points to the smaller figures at the side. I notice another figure drawn in between Lucy and the figure who is supposed to be me, smaller than everyone and beaming.

I glanced at a few of the books, some fantasy novels and a small sketch pad. I opened the sketch pad and looked through it, she was good. Really good. The scenes were mostly outdoors. Forests, waterfalls, mountains. All done with such grace and precision. Each more lovely and realistic than the last. I noticed at the bottom there was a J written as beautifully as the drawings themselves. I got to the last page and there was a drawing of a moon. Bright and beautiful in the sky but there was something else to it. The drawing felt sad. “What the hell.” I snapped as I lifted my hand and wiped a tear from my cheek.

She packed juice boxes and snacks into her small pink backpack, puffing out her chest proudly. “But… we’re just staying in the mansion.” Jaxon pointed out, confused. “Exactly,” Elara said, hands on her hips. “That’s why it’s called an adventure. Every adventure needs snacks.” Jaxon tilted his head, then nodded. “Okay.” And so, they wandered through the grand corridors, whispering like spies, pretending the staff were guards they had to sneak past. They ended up in Elara’s room with crayons and paper, sprawled on the floor drawing castles and strange animals with mismatched colors. Later, they threaded seashells from her collection into strings.

Today is a Christmas party in her school and also her school vacation starts from today. “Mammy, I have made this,” She said, giving me her drawing card. “Why this card,” I asked. “Maestro asked us to make a family diagram and the best drawing will take place on a Christmas tree,” She said happily, showing the picture. I opened the card and saw her amazing painting. She has different levels of craze for painting. She has drawn me in the center beside a shadow, and I know what it means. She draws herself to the right side of the shadow, interlocking fingers with him and another side, Jonathan sitting in a wheelchair.

“Old habits. Hard to shut down.” She poured him a cup of coffee, sliding it across the counter. “Then drink before you fall over.” Adrian took it, his hand brushing hers — brief, accidental. She pulled back quickly, pretending to adjust her sleeve. He pretended not to notice. Aria lifted her drawing proudly. “Look, Mr. Blackwood! It’s me, Mommy, and you.” He crouched beside her, glancing at the stick figures — a house, a big sun, and three smiling faces holding hands. Something in his throat tightened. “You’re quite the artist,” he said quietly.

“And if there was, it doesn’t matter now.” He turned to me. “Liana?” I stepped forward, sliding my arm through his. “Liam’s waiting,” I said. “Let’s not keep him.” We walked away, leaving Charlotte red-faced and Eleanor fuming. In the east wing, Liam was awake, colouring. “Lia! Superhero!” Adrian crouched beside the bed, the cold melting away. “Hey, little man. What are we drawing today?” Liam held up the paper: a man in black with a cape, holding a woman’s hand, a little boy between them.

The man had chased us all the way home and all through it, Adele laughed. "Mama, bear," she whined trying to get down from my arms. "Sure sure," I mumbled lowering her to the floor, "show me the bear," She raced to her mat, grabbed a piece of paper, and ran back. "I draw bear!" "She sure is proud of the bear," her teacher sniffed. I could see the sides of her lips were tilted up as if she were holding in a smile. Oh oh. Collecting the piece of paper from the bouncing child, I stared at the drawing and snickered. "This is a car Adele,"

The hidden apartment in Rome had become their sanctuary and their prison. Three days had passed since the violent meeting, and Luca’s restlessness was growing.
