The lock clicked. The door opened. Inside was a small office. Everything had been left untouched. A desk. Several shelves. A children's drawing pinned to the wall. Eva walked toward it. Her name was written across the bottom in childish handwriting. Eva. She stared at it. “I made this.” Adrian looked at the drawing. “What is it?” “My family.” She pointed at the figures. “That was my mother.” Then her father. Then herself. Then another person. Eva frowned.

All they did in my class was practice adding and subtracting. Mom got a funny look on her face when I told her that I like to draw during math. While the other kids werre counting on their fingers I would pretend to be working in my workbook. Truthfully, I was sketching. I had some cool drawings in that workbook, hidden way in the back. I like to draw weather events, uncontrolled power unleashed on unsuspecting souls. I liked hurricanes and tornadoes the best. I loved the power a storm generated. The inevitable destruction it would cause was fun to try to put on paper. Sometimes I would see a storm raging in my mind and I could barely draw fast enough to get all the details on the page

Then, she swiped the notification away. Erased. “Look, Mommy!” Adrian held up his drawing. “This is our family!” The picture showed a tall man, a beautiful woman, and a little boy. They were standing in front of a castle, under a blue sky. Jennifer kissed her son’s forehead gently. “It’s beautiful, baby.” Julian leaned against the doorframe, a soft smile on his face as he watched them. He knelt, ruffling Adrian’s hair. “A masterpiece for the gallery, little man.” His gaze then shifted to Jennifer, his eyes full of a quiet, profound love.

He digs a small notebook out of his pocket and scribbles. I inch closer to peek over his shoulder. He’s sketching a very rudimentary diagram of the valley. “What are you doing?” He blinks up. His lips curve ruefully, and he holds up his drawing. It looks like a stick figure with a triangle for its head. I plop down next to him and snag my backpack. It feels nice to sit. I usually meander, but I’ve been pushing myself so Cadoc doesn’t slow himself to a patronizing crawl, and he has a much longer stride than I do.

“Hey buddy! How are you?” He bit his lip, suddenly shy. "I'll miss you, Sister! Come back soon.” Before I could reply, he turned to Xeros and handed him something– more like, pushed something into his hand. Before we could ask anything, he darted away. Xeros carefully unfolded the paper, and I found myself peeking over his arm in curiosity. But never could have prepared me for what I found: it was a drawing , with me, Xeros and Adam. Adam had drawn himself smiling in the center, clutching both our hands as we ran through the rain and storms together.

Victor’s POV As we stepped into Emily's new apartment, laughter filled the air. We had just come back from picking up her son Adrian from school. The little guy was bubbling with excitement, showing off his latest crayon masterpiece. “Look, Uncle Victor! I drew a dinosaur!” Adrian exclaimed, waving his colorful drawing in the air. “Wow, that's impressive, buddy!” I said, kneeling down to his level to get a better look. “Is this a T-Rex or a Brontosaurus?”

So that means getting going now. Having a blank page for a commission, and getting started on it, that’s two different things. After wasting most of my free period staring at a large white rectangle, I give up and start doodling in a sketchpad instead. Sketches of faces, mostly. The Pack. Imogen. Mom. The college staff. My tutor, Mrs Bird, as a Sergeant Major in a feathery rainbow uniform, strutting around bellowing orders. Jade as a crow, teaching crow martial arts to a bunch of baby crows. Mary in a Cinderella ball gown. Reese as a tiger. Tom as a warrior fairy, with dragonfly wings and a silver rapier.

She still didn’t trust Adrian completely, but seeing Liam’s happiness made it hard to push him away. She closed the door and turned around, watching as Liam pulled Adrian toward the living room. “Come, sit here!” Liam said, pointing to the couch. Adrian sat down, and Liam ran to grab a stack of papers from the coffee table. He held them up proudly. “These are my drawings!” Adrian took the papers, flipping through them one by one. He smiled as he studied each one. “Wow, these are amazing, Liam. You’re really talented.” Liam beamed. “Do you like this one?” He pointed to a drawing of a tall man holding hands with a smaller boy. The details weren’t clear, but Nadine knew exactly who it was suppo

It’s strange twisting branches are now visible, swiftly moving with the wind. The woman was in awe. She then glanced at the animals that surrounded her. In an instant, her jaw dropped, witnessing the unusual features of every animal. One had four eyes, while others had flowers growing from their antlers. The critters on the woman’s lap moved, softly bumping their scarlet nose against her. Their gem-like eyes widened as their irises dilated in excitement. The woman responded to them, carefully caressing their faces. As she bowed down to meet the critters’ gaze, strands of her hair got loose from the back of her ear. Promptly, the waves bounced. Revealing its bright red hue.

Zia said. They walk for almost ten minutes, when they reached a pub they turn to the left and stop in front of the building with the sign 'KAPISANAN'[1]. "Here it is, the Adventurers Guild," Zia said while scanning the people walking to and fro inside the building. When they entered inside the guild, murmuring startup. "Look, the Blight twins are here," the old man said with a massive build and a scar in his forehead. "Heh," grunt of the other guy with a Mohawk hairstyle.
