Carefully, she pushed against it.
It moved.
Barely.
Like something deep beneath water shifting just enough to disturb the surface.
Her eyes opened again, a frown forming. “That’s it?”
“Again,” Darius said.
She tried a second time, this time with more intent.
The response came quicker. A faint ripple passed through the air, subtle but undeniable. The temperature dipped just enough for her to notice.
