I guess I have a date to get ready for. END OF FLASHBACK

For one brief second, hope returned to his face. “Really?” “Yes,” I said. “But I will never go back to you.” The light in his eyes went out. “Aria…” “Forgiveness is not another chance. It only means I’m done carrying you with me.” He stood there without moving. Outside the hall, winter sunlight fell across the steps. I took a breath, and for the first time in a long while, it did not hurt. A man in a charcoal coat waited near the car. He had dark curls, green eyes, and a calm smile that carried no pity.

Afraid of losing him, I gradually closed my mouth. “I knew you would win the championship. I've booked a restaurant to celebrate for Sharon. Let's all share in the joy.” As soon as John finished speaking, cheers erupted around us. The assistant's out-of-place voice interrupted the celebration. “Um... what about Sister Sharon? She's still pinned under the car, right?” After a pause, John 's voice was cold and ruthless. “The race cars are specially customized with anti-collision features. As for her current state, she's probably just trying to get my attention.”

An emergency meeting has been scheduled in three days. Then a photo of Derek and Elena pops up on my screen, and my knees almost give me away. My heart races as I hear Cade’s car make a soft sound, signaling that he’s about to drive out of the compound. Before I can even think, I do a quick mental check. I don’t have options. I shove my phone into my side pocket and rush after Cade’s car, which is already starting to move. I run to an angle where I’m sure he can see me and start waving frantically for him to stop.

Later, he somehow found my address and waited outside my building until Rafael had a talk with him, finally getting him to stop his harassment. Isabelle became quite depressed after the incident. She cut ties with Elliot's friends and gradually healed from the relationship's trauma. I heard she eventually moved to another city to start fresh. As for Rafael and me, our relationship grew stronger each day, filled with happiness and love. Sometimes, I thought that without my past experiences, I might not have cherished my current happiness as much. Rafael had become the most wonderful surprise in my life. I believed we would continue walking this path of happiness together, forever.

They quickened their pace to look at the dark sky that has no star. The thunder light roared in the sky. Julia jumped into Joshua and their eyes met. She thought that time had stopped for them.
