I’ve watched you with your mate and I had to watch you with your destined. I rejected her. Yes and while that’s great, it doesn’t change the fact that I’ve never really had a chance. You’ve shared something with the two of them that I’ll never have. You were fated. While I- Flash came to an abrupt stop and I struggled to stop so I didn’t run into him. He did a 360 and faced me, his eyes glinted mischievously as he stared at me. Flash shifted and turned into Viktor. My eyes searched the surrounding area, Jamie and the Deltas were nowhere in sight.

Each flash showed them clearer. Less ghost. More real. “Keep going,” I said. “I’m trying—!” The energy built around her. Unstable. But controlled enough. For now. The figures hesitated. Just for a moment. That was all I needed. “Now!” The sparks surged outward. Not an explosion— A pulse. A wave. It hit the walls— The floor— The figures— And suddenly— They were all there. Solid. Real. Exposed. I didn’t waste the opportunity.

“She’ll be at the shelter Friday night. After the meal run. If she wants to talk, she’ll step outside. If she doesn’t, don’t follow her. Don’t make this worse.” Meekey nodded, hands trembling slightly. “Thank you.” Zoe stood. “Don’t thank me yet. You’ve got one shot.” As she walked away, Meekey gripped the note in her hand like it was made of glass. One shot. And this time, she wasn’t going to miss.

Alex thinks. "One last time," Echo says. "But not sequentially. Simultaneously." "Everything?" I ask. "Everything. All at once. An infinite loop of joy." "The Final Sequence." The Flash. It doesn't start slow. There is no ramp-up. It hits us like a collision between two stars. ZAP. My body—my frail, dying body—vanishes. I am back in my old apartment. I am twenty-five. I am touching myself for the first time under Echo’s guidance. The thrill of discovery. The shame. The heat.

**Flashback** Mason's footsteps echoed through the dimly lit corridor, the damp scent of mould and decay clinging to the air as he made his way through the underground passages. "I'll let you be," Lex's voice drifted from behind him as they approached the dangerous entryway. "I'm gonna prepare the teams for the attack tomorrow."

Seth smirked, placing a hand on his mark. “Oh, you want to be fast, Idris? I got fast.” He uttered a single word: “Flash.” Dressed in full superhero gear, Seth sped past Idris, who barely caught a glimpse of him. Charlene wasn’t about to be outdone. She touched her mark and whispered, “Lightning.” The moment she moved, the ground beneath her scorched black, sending powerful shockwaves rippling ahead. The force knocked both Idris and Seth off their feet.

Plugs in the flash drive. The screen flashes to life, casting a dim glow over his sharp features. And then— The footage plays.

I tried fighting again with my last strength, but that didn’t last long for suddenly it didn’t hurt anymore. I instantly knew that I wouldn’t make it, and the realization made me suddenly calm. Flashes of what happened at the top of the cliff fleeted past my mind and I smiled. They had won. With that thought in mind, I closed my eyes and eagerly succumbed to the darkness that followed. My eyes suddenly snapped open though, and surprisingly I was no longer in the water but somewhere else totally. I thought that the afterlife was supposed to be beautiful and I was supposed to be reliving my happiest moments.

SAVANNAH >Flashback… As the last of the spell leaves my lips I feel the darkness surround me, I don’t let it scare me as I see a small light in the distance. I walk slowly in that direction, my eyes go wide as I slowly walk into that small light and look around to take in the scene of the war.

Effryn pulled her out of her own thoughts as a flash of a camera suddenly catches my attention. It was Dana. For some reason, they were all closing onto the two of us, including Effryn's teammates. "Change your clothes, Effryn," I said. I did my best not to show that I was affected by their action. The man only nods his head and then put his chin across my shoulders. "What?" I asked, looking at him. "It's nothing," he said. "Go and take a shower already. Make sure to change your clothes before going to the admin," I added and immediately stepped away from him. I started walking away.
