Her black short hair waved as she descended the stairs and ran like a squirrel toward the dining table. Her golden eyes were vividly clear with happiness as soon as she saw her family. When she sat at the table, her mother smiled at her cuteness as she ate the bread and drank the milk hurriedly. Alina Lesle Clemente, Akira’s mother. Selene disengaged from her embrace, and sniffed, "I.. my fur was red." Akira squinted her eyes, "Red? That's so.. Selene, how is your fur red? You must be very special!" She sighed sadly, "I wish.." I clenched my jaw, not bothering to hide my irritation. “What do you want, Akira?” She smiled, her perfectly painted lips curling as she sauntered closer. “Is that any way to greet the future Luna of your pack?” I stood abruptly, my chair scraping against the floor. “You are not my Luna,” I said coldly. Her smile faltered for a moment before she regained her composure. “We had an agreement, Atlas. You promised my father—”

I bent down to her level. She counted her fingers one after the other, “Six,” She showed me six fingers. Akira’s voice was very clear for her age. I touched her nose. “You are one smart child. What’s your name?” She touched the slime on my body, “Akira, what’s this on your body?” I lightly held her hand and brought her closer to me, “Your daddy also has it on his body.” She nodded her head. “So, who are you?” What do I tell this kid? “When your daddy comes back home, ask him who Inaya is.”

“What is your name?” I swallowed hard. “Akira.” His eyes flared silver the moment I mentioned my name. “That’s not what I asked,” he said quietly. “What are you?” “I was Luna-in-waiting,” I said. “Now I’m nothing.” He took a few steps closer, then yet another. Slowly, like le was approaching something that might bite if care wasn't taken. “No,” he murmured. “You’re not a Rogue either.” He inhaled deeply, like he was trying to confirm something. Even his entire body went still as he examined me.

“But I’ll be back, Akira. I promise.” Jiro handed Mina to me, and I cradled her close, looking down at her tiny face. “This is Mina,” I said softly. “She’s named after you, you know. Her middle name, Akiko—it’s for you.” I felt a lump in my throat as I said the words, but there was also a sense of peace. This was my way of keeping Akira with me, of ensuring his legacy lived on in our family.

“But my brother wouldn’t stop talking about you.” I blinked in surprise, narrowing my eyes. “Your brother?” “James,” she said, smiling brightly. “The Beta of Moonsdale Pack.” “Oh,” I muttered, vaguely recalling the name but unable to put a face to it. “Since we’re from the same pack, I hope we can get along,” Akira said sweetly. “By the way,” Mirabelle interjected, a mischievous grin spreading across her face, “your fall in class today was iconic.
