AKIRA’s POV. I stormed into my room, slamming the door behind me. I was fuming. Kael's words still echoed in my mind, "You're just a Luna in name, Akira. You're a breeder, nothing more." How dare he! I paced back and forth, my whole body shaking with anger. I couldn't believe he didn't listen to me, didn't trust me. I was his mate, his partner, but he treated me like a … like a bag of trash.

The old father asks tenderly, so that I dispel my suspicions that it is my vanity that is this voice whispering inside me. " Is it me...?" I don't know if it is a question or an answer. " Of course it's you, hollow head!" Says the older mother, tapping my head lightly. I bet that this "hollow head", she learned from Akira. Only she calls me that. Alpha, Akira, calm down! That woman's name is Ameira?" His eyes couldn't help but widen. "Yes, why? She hasn't told you? — I thought you already knew her?" Zebina narrowed her eyes. "Yeah, but we know her by a different name. Even my grandmother calls her by a different name." Kendrick shook his head. "Maybe ..." he continued, "Is she insane or is she hiding from something or someone? It looks like there is," he added.

The thought brought a small, satisfied smile to my lips. Whatever it was, it should be or wasn’t my problem. Yet I couldn’t help but feel a spark of curiosity. Akira’s silence was unlike her, and it made me wonder just how much she was willing to endure to protect her precious title. Akira’s façade of strength was slipping, and it was only a matter of time before she fell completely. Wait a minute, I said to myself, Was it really about the title? Hunter might have chosen her, but even Lunas weren’t immune to cracks in their armor.

Akira whispered a sharp incantation — words I didn’t recognize but felt down to the marrow of my bones. The mist recoiled. The figures howled in rage, shrinking, twisting. Another wave came — stronger, meaner. They clawed at the edges of reality, trying to force fear into our hearts. Akira stood, her hand flashing as she pulled a small silver talisman from under her jacket — a charm etched with runes I knew were old, older than Raven’s Peak itself. The moment she held it aloft, the symbols lit up — soft and silver like moonlight trapped in stone.

She paused for a slight second, and looked around the room like she was checking to see someone. "My name is Akira, and I was sold to this man by my wicked stepmother. I've been dealing with living here with absolute carefulness, because I know that my next second isn't certain." She narrated. "So, what does he do? Why does people fear him?" I asked. Her mood suddenly changed. "Alpha Kieran, is the most evil and richest mortuary attendant. He kills, extract souls, imprisons spirits, and sells the bodies of his victims." She explained, and I gasped in shock.

Akira's voice sliced into the thoughts that had formed within me, bringing me back to the present, "I just came to inform you that I'm going hunting and would like to know if you're tagging along." She said, a little cheerfully. "Are you going with your maid?" My question tumbled out of my lips even before my brain followed. "No, I'm going alone," She answered. But then, a light furrow creased Akira's forehead, she seemed a little confused. "Which of my maids?" She finally asked. Since I had already let it out, I knew I had to play along. "Xenra," I replied calmly, betraying no emotions.

"What is your name, noble wolf?" The wolf looked up at him with her golden eyes and replied, "My name is Akira, son of the moon." Orion's eyes widened in wonder. "Akira," he repeated, the name rolling off his tongue like music. "It's beautiful." Akira nodded her head, her fur rustling in the breeze. "I am at your service, Orion and Selene. I have been sent to protect you on your journey." Selene's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Sent by whom?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
