Sam mutters, turning sharply.
“You know what?… I did it,” Logan boasts, his face bruised and his leg in a cast.

As he speaks the last word, pain slices through my chest. My ears ring and the air grows heavy.
“Estela, what’s wrong?!” Sam shouts, holding me.
“The veil,” I whisper, sitting up.
“The destined alpha…?” he mutters. “It was the piece… idiots… it’s done. Say hi to Laila,” Logan screams before disappearing.
