Darkness surged violently through the corridor, and Aurelian’s voice everywhere at once: “You think the shadows obey kindness? They obey power.” The darkness wrapped around my wrists, cold and heavy. “I don’t want them!” I struggled. “But they want you.” Hundreds of silver eyes appeared all around the corridor, watching from the dark. The shadows tightened, making my chest hurt, as the whispers returned louder. Many voices, all speaking at once: Lycan. Heir. Shadow-born. Consume. Rule. The pressure became too much. “STOP!” The darkness shattered. I woke violently with a gasp and the palace room rushed back into my vision.

“I wouldn’t dream of interfering.” “Good,” Alaric answered flatly. But Lucien wasn’t even fazed. Instead, he rose from his chair, walked over to where I sat, and—without asking—took my hand in his gloved one. His fingers were cool. Too cool. “You’re already marked by lightning,” he said softly, tilting my palm up to examine it. “But shadow could steady that storm, if you let it.” “Let go,” Alaric’s voice came low and sharp now, but his expression didn’t change.

I let my power recede into me slowly, freeing them from its forceful hold. “Yes, Alpha,” they replied in unison, their head still bowed. “Who?” I asked, turning to my Gamma. A growl escaped Nikolai’s lips. I already knew who the person was. “Declan Hale.” There it is. That fucking name. The Creed Pack called him The Shadow. He was a ghost. An assassin for hire. People whispered his name in secret like he was some god. But to me, he was just a feral mutt that needed to be exterminated.

murmured a doubtful Kade. “They are not,” Morgana said adamantly, stepping toward her shadow. “This is just another trick. Another test.” The shadows were coming nearer, shifting and writhing. Alec stood firm, his voice steady and strong against that storm raging inside him. “We know the truth. You can’t break us.” “Can’t we?” hissed Alec’s shadow as it lunged toward him. Instinctively, Alec’s hand went up, and a blast of silvery light burst from the palm, throwing the shadow off balance.

Alud smiled wickedly. “The rest of the group,” he growled, and with fury pounced on the shadows through the jacket and the dense wool of the werewolf dripping blood. Julia was breathing heavily standing next to people. Suddenly, behind Julia appeared a dark blob, which Conrod saw in a vision. Eliza's amulet trembled and burst into several pieces with a booming sound. Julia was distracted for a second by the broken amulet, and at that moment a black hand, all strewn with luminous blue veins, rapidly appeared from the dark hole, piercing through the body of Yulia. Following the hand, its owner appeared from the portal - the Lord of the Shadows himself. He is like a featherlifted the werewolf's

Then, suddenly, a memory flashed through his mind, a fragment of ancient lore he had stumbled upon in his studies. "The Guardian feeds on darkness," he said, the realization dawning on him. "But it's vulnerable to light." Sasha's eyes widened in understanding as she caught on to Alec's train of thought. "So we need to find a way to harness the light against it," she said, her voice filled with determination. With renewed purpose, Alec scanned their surroundings, searching for anything that might help them in their battle. Then, his eyes fell on a cluster of crystals embedded in the walls of the cavern, their surfaces shimmering with a faint luminescence.

He could see that I was pissed and I wanted my pound of flesh. “Hello Leo. We haven’t been properly introduced. I’m Lucas Reed. The Alpha of the Midnight Moon Pack. And Meadow’s mate.” I said. “W…what?” He stuttered. “Oh. Did Mateo forget to mention that part? Yeah, you tried to rape and then kill my mate. And if you thought he was scary, you haven’t seen anything yet.” I said, taking my jacket off. “That’s bullshit. Meadow always said that she didn’t want a mate.” Leo said.

Serena begged Shadow, hoping he would listen; for some reason, she prefers Adrian's cold demeanor to Shadow's unpredictable attitude. "Now where is the fun in that, Adrian doesn't know how to have fun, but with me you're going to have the time of your life," Shadow said with a smirk on his face. "Please just let Adrian take over," Serena asked again, his eyes as white as snow, he never told her exactly what he was, but she guessed that he was an Alba Lycan, because they all died a few centuries ago, she really didn’t know much about him. "What could that pretty little head of yours be thinking about?" Shadow inquired, lifting his hands to caress her face as his graze scanned her face.

And to make the situation even more confusing and worse, the dark light that was covering and surrounding both Erezhul and Liora like a thick curtain had blocked everyone else in the room from being able to see what was happening inside that circle. As usual and as expected, Vyrelen completely ignored Daisy's confused questions and worried comments. He remained focused intently on the exact same spot where the dark light was swirling and pulsing with energy. Unlike all the other people in the throne room who could not see through the magical darkness, Vyrelen was still able to see both Erezhul and Liora clearly because of his connection to Erezhul and his own shadow abilities. His eyes never

It must have been the reason my magic returned back to me. I gritted my teeth and said to him, “You are the leader of the Shadow Wolves, aren't you?” He smiled at me and said, “You do know me very well, don't you?” I sneered at him. “I am the Alpha of Deep into the woods, Alexa.” He looked at me from top to bottom before saying, “You don't look very impressive, still you're beta, huh?” The white wolf went ahead of me to attack the Shadow Wolves leader only for him to tear the wolf apart that the wolves blood leaked all over his face.
