Alpha Rex.
He seized the intruder by the throat and slammed him against the wall in a blur of motion, claws flashing, teeth bared.
“Touch her,” Rex snarled, “and I end you.”
The man gasped, hands clawing at Rex’s wrist. “I didn’t Alpha—!”
Rex didn’t loosen his grip.
She stared, heart racing, blade forgotten in her hand.
This was not the controlled Alpha she’d argued with earlier.
This was something older. Darker.
“Rex ,” she said hoarsely.
Her voice cut through the rage like a blade.
His head snapped toward her, eyes glowing faintly, chest heaving. For a moment, she thought he wouldn’t stop.
