Lucius added with a smirk, and I knew he was referring to Matt.
"How old are you, Lulu?" Alice asked, her confusion growing.
"Thirty-nine," Lucius revealed.
Alice's eyes went wide. "You're super old!"
Lucius laughed, and I took a bigger-than-needed gulp of juice.
"I know, I know. Forty is breathing down my neck," he joked.
"You'd better marry my mommy before you die of old age," Alice advised, her voice filled with genuine concern.
I spit out a spray of juice, droplets scattering through the air. Alice was on fire today, more outspoken than ever. She was usually calm and reserved, not the kind of child to call people old or suggest marriages for her aunt.
