“You don’t get to do that. You don’t get to show up here acting like you care after everything you pulled. Leave. Now.” Lucy’s face twisted. She took a step back but didn’t go quietly. “Wow. You’re really choosing her over me? After everything? I was trying to help. She looks like shit and you’re letting her walk around like this? Fine. Keep your little stolen Luna. I could have been a better replacement anyway.” She spun on her heel and stormed out, but not without dropping one last snide comment. “I’ll make sure you learn a good lesson for stealing what’s mine very soon.”

“Fine, even if we are going to do this, I think we should still let Lucien know” Lucy is the last daughter of Alpha Mark; she's twenty, smart, and kind-hearted. She loves Lucien so much but has to stay away from him because of his anger issues. She found herself spending more time with her elder sister, Lillian, and Lillian’s boyfriend and beta to Lucien, Fabian. Many times, she doesn't understand why she listens to them and does as they request even though she wasn't in support of it. But Lucien no longer takes the pack seriously. They have to take matters into their own hands.

It looked empty without my clutter strewn all over, but was sparklingly clean. “What’s going on?” I asked Lucy once I got her seated. She was shaking. “I need to talk to Nolan. I have to tell him something. Or… show him something.” Evan, perched on the arm of the couch, put a hand on Lucy’s shoulder. It seemed to steady her nerves. “I know where Adan is,” she said. “What? How?” Lucy looked down at her hands. She was cradling her phone in them, looking at it like it was precious and fragile. The screen was shattered, but that wasn’t new – her screen had been busted ever since I’d known her.

She took a step closer, her voice steady but filled with compassion, "Lucy, I'm here because I care about you. We all do. Something isn't right, and we want to help you." Lucy's laughter echoed through the room, a bitter sound that sent shivers down Darren's spine. "Help me? You can't help me. Nobody can. I don't need any of you. I just need Stanley." Maddie's eyes met Darren's, silently conveying her growing concern. She knew that Lucy's fixation on Stanley was a significant hurdle to overcome. She took a deep breath, her voice filled with sincerity, "Lucy, I understand that you believe Stanley is the answer, but you have to trust us. He's not good for you. He's been manipulating you."

Just as Livy sat down and intended to call the maids here, suddenly a woman sat right in front of her. "What are you doing here?" Livy's eyes opened wide when she remembered who was in front of her now. This woman's name is Lucy; she is her enemy in college. "Surprised by my presence, Enemy?" Lucy was a rich kid who always made fun of Livy when she was in college. I don't know the reason, but Livy thought that Lucy didn't like it when she was there. Even when Livy dropped out of college due to a lack of funds, Lucy continued to badmouth her name in front of their friends.

Lucy chuckled. “But congratulations, Caramel. You succeeded in snatching the trash I had been holding for years. Thanks to you, I can finally live a good life without that huge bag of dirt weighing me down. Thank you for helping take out the trash, you piece of shit!” Lucy cussed and ended the call without waiting for a reply. "I really did help her take out the bag of trash," she said slowly, as the realisation hit her. She stood for a minute and suddenly screamed loudly and punched the air in frustration. Passersby looked at her like she had lost her mind.

"We're partners, are we not? If something happens to you, we have no way of getting a hold of your people. We watch each other's backs. If you have a problem I have a problem. That's how alliances work," Lucy lets out a heavy sigh and leans against the back of her lifted truck. Her hair falls forward and splits apart revealing a dark bruise on her forehead. I take the flashlight on my keys and tip her chin up to make sure she doesn't have a concussion. I tuck her hair back to find that it's not as bad as it seems. For one of us, at least. Lucille is human. These things are fierce but they're fragile and they take forever to heal. "Tell me what happened to you, Lucy," I make her look up at me

"I'm just tired. Work has been busy." Lucy was quiet for a moment. "Sloane. You know you can tell me anything, right?" "I know." "Promise me you'll call if you need anything." "I promise." She hung up. She felt guilty for lying. But she couldn't tell Lucy the truth. Couldn't drag her into this mess. Lucy was happy. Lucy had a baby. Lucy had a life. Sloane couldn't ruin that. She went for another walk that night. Ended up at the same street. The same club. Stood outside and stared at the door.

Sitting down on the edge of the creaky bed, Lucy stared blankly at the room she had been trapped in for so long. Everything was changing so quickly. After years of nothing but misery... could she really be free in just a few months? Her hand trembled slightly as she remembered her small pouch. She had hidden it deep inside an old dusty vase. Her tiny savings, enough, she hoped, to buy herself a real start. Lucy crossed the room and reached inside the vase. Her fingers brushed the rough fabric just as footsteps echoed down the basement stairs. She stiffened. "Well, well. Looks like the dumb bitch is packing to go somewhere," Gina’s mocking voice rang out, followed by the high-pitched laughter

Luna Hale set her plate down before walking over to Willa, who had already gotten up as they embraced, “We didn’t see you last night. We thought you both weren’t attending this year.” “Oh no, we could never miss this.” Willa said in all smiles. “Lucy has been lovely, as always.” She shot Lucy a grateful glance. Wainwright snorted and said, “Yeah. Until you put her on the battlefield.” Gamma Sylvia then joined in with a giggle, “Then, she’ll turn into a monster.” Seeing Lucianne embarrassed with her hands covering her eyes, Juan added, “Let’s give Lucy more credit. She won’t turn into a monster. Lucy has been a monster since we were kids.”
