The Illusion of Forever

The Illusion of Forever

He let out a deep breath as though a heavy weight had finally been lifted off his chest, then stood up and left without another word. I remained dazed as I walked back "home" like a hollow shell. The air in this city felt thick and oppressive as I struggled to breathe. Even the wind blowing against my face was hot. This was not the home I had once dreamed of. After two years of living in this city, I never imagined it could feel so suffocating. Fortunately, this chapter was coming to an end. … It was late when Nicholas and Ashley returned, worn out from their day together. I stayed seated in the living room, waiting for them.

Forever Always

Forever Always

The final item, scrawled hastily in the manager’s neat, hateful hand, was unusual: "Clean and reorganize the Sub-Level Wine Cellar. Immediately." The wine cellar was a ghost space, unused since the family finished their last big political fundraiser. It was cold, dark, and utterly isolated , exactly the kind of place where a Grant could afford to lose his composure. My heart hammered with a terrible clarity. It wasn't Mr. Harrison who wanted the cellar clean. It was Ethan.

A Different Kind of Alpha: Blood Oath

A Different Kind of Alpha: Blood Oath

Alexei Waiting is its own kind of war. The cold up here isn't just cold, it’s a living, malicious thing. It chews through armor, through wool, through skin, and settles right in your bones. It’s a patient cold, and it’s been our only companion for six agonizing hours. We lie on our bellies in the snow on the high ridge, a hundred yards above the tunnel mouth. The sun has bled out behind the western peaks, dragging all the light and warmth from the world.

Beneath His Cold Vows

Beneath His Cold Vows

Edward's POV Cold. That was first. Not pain. Cold. Starting at the edges of things and moving inward with the patience of something that knows it will get there eventually. The sky. Too bright. I tried to hold it in my sight and couldn’t. Sound arrived in the wrong order—a voice, then none, then two at once, then nothing, then hers. Hers stayed. Her hand was still in mine. I confirmed that before anything else. Warm. Still there. The warmth of it the only fixed point in everything else moving in and out.

To everyone who stayed with this story, I owe you an apology. The ending came without warning and that wasn't fair to you or to everything you invested in Alicia and Edward. I'm sorry. A bonus chapter is coming and I promise it will be worth the wait. Thank you for not giving up on them.

This book had me hooked from chapter 1. The "Contract CEO" trope is done right here, no cringe, just pure tension. He’s cold, calculated, and thinks he’s buying her... but she’s the one rewriting the terms. The power play scenes? Chef’s kiss. Every contract clause felt like a new twist.

I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars because it deserves it! This book is worth the read! It is intriguing and suspenseful filled with the need to want to uphold a century long treaty of peace but it is all starting to crash when love and fate steps in and turn everything upside down.

The Beast's Bride: surrendering to the beast within

The Beast's Bride: surrendering to the beast within

(Sofia’s POV – Dreamworld / Final Memory) The snow had stopped falling. But the cold—**the kind that settles beneath the skin, into the soul—**remained. I stood in the great hall alone. No laughter. No footsteps. No fire burning in the hearth. Just the echo of a home that had already made up its mind to forget me. The tapestries that once told the story of our bloodline hung limp and grey. The same colors I’d worn during my rites. The same colors they had wrapped around me like a gift, pretending it was honor—when all it had ever been was a burial cloth.

The Ex-wife's Secret Empire: Beg For Me, Mr Blackwood

The Ex-wife's Secret Empire: Beg For Me, Mr Blackwood

The moisture on Maya’s jacket froze into a stiff, crackling sheet of rime. "She’s taken over the switch," Thorne gasped, shivering violently as he clutched the aluminum case of the Legacy Bank to his chest. "The Heiress... she couldn't beat us in the water, so she’s retreating to the ice. She’s going to use the third core’s atmospheric controls to lock us in a perpetual winter."

My stepdad's fantasy

My stepdad's fantasy

The snow kept falling. The world kept turning. And for the first time since that kitchen island We weren’t running. We were arriving. Somewhere new. Somewhere ours. The phone stayed silent. The sirens stayed distant. And between us The heat never faded. It just changed shape. Became something quieter. Deeper. Eternal. We had one more night. One more locked door. One more chance to burn slow. So we did. Again. And again. Until dawn crept through the curtains.

Cold At Dusk

Cold At Dusk

It is only a man without problems that sleeps at peace and Kamsi was not that man. She was not a woman who knew how to deal with pain. She burdened her heart with alot of thoughts and even when she sleeps, her thoughts follow her to the realms of dreams where they taunt her with even exaggerated versions. A cold war rose after the night Kamsi mentioned Ella's coming. She had been expecting it; Silence was Mark's own attack or rather response in situations like that. Not responding to her greetings, eating food she prepared without acknowledging her and suddenly becoming just a house mate to her.
