Ethan’s gaze softened, and he moved around the table, sitting beside her. “Look at me, Liv.” He gently lifted her chin, forcing her to meet his eyes. “We will win. Not because we’re perfect, not because we don’t doubt, but because we’re in this together.”
She swallowed, the lump in her throat making it hard to speak. “I’m scared, Ethan. What if we lose?”
His fingers brushed over her hand, grounding her. “We’re not losing, Liv. You’ve proven to me time and again that you’re stronger than you give yourself credit for. And I won’t let anything happen to us. I promise.”
