Charlotte POV: "Do you think I made enough cookies?" I stared at the piles and piles of freshly baked cookies that were covering every inch of the counter. I made a small variety of shortbread, chocolate chip macadamia cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and macadamia cookies. The chocolate chips and nuts sunk deeply into the soft, baked dough, making sure that the eater had a taste of them with each and every bite. "If Timothy stops eatin' them they'll be more than enough." Raven sneered.

Then on the dessert table we have Baci DiDama, which are hazelnut meringue sandwiches filled with chocolate. We have cherry- almond star cookies, and pignoli—those are pine nut cookies. My aunt Lily makes a mean rainbow cookie with an almond filling, even though she’s not Italian. And of course you’ll find some cannoli and various fruits.”

Martin asked as he pulled the lid of the container Alfred shoved at him open and selected his third cookie. “They’re not hot, they’re just still slightly warm. Cookies should be cool when you eat them. That’s what I meant,” Alfred explained. Opening the cupboard, he put the container with the laced cookies on the shelf, with a container of unlaced cookies in front of it, just in case Martin decided to help himself. “Can I get you something to drink?” At the sound of Alison’s car pulling up the drive, Martin went to the window and looked out. “Will Alison be okay with my being here?”

Eve said defending me and Max nodded. "Is it possible to forget this kind of thing?" Ethan asked Max while Max tried to make him shut up. "Max will order for me." Eve said gesturing to max and the waiter turned to face max who smiled. "I'll take iced caramel latte, double drip almond milk, no vanilla extract, six pumps of sugar, extra ice, add honey and cinnamon powder put whipped cream too, venti." Max said and I looked at him with wide eyes. Can he really drink that?

Not my regular choice, but I’m willing to try it for Lola. “Like most dense cookies, shortbreads are best when dunked,” Lola explains, seeing my quizzical look. Damn, she’s observant too. She and Damien show the technique in unison, making me swoon internally. Inviting him might have been too much. I can’t handle both him and Lola simultaneously. How she and Damien interact makes me flutter with some severe need. “Then, I have to try it now,” I say, using my latte. I’m pleasantly surprised by how soft it gets with steamed milk.
