An Alpha did not falter when his family watched him. Across the ruin, Beta Kael appeared first, his blade dripping black ichor, his wolf eyes gleaming wild. His chest heaved, his armor torn, but when he saw Archer in my hold, something broke loose in him. He staggered once, then dropped to his knees in the dirt, head bowed, a warrior's surrender to hope. "Alpha," he rasped, voice rough with exhaustion and awe. "The heir..." Archer stirred at the sound, his little fingers tightening on Zeina's dress. I shifted my hand to cradle the back of his head, protective, steady. "The heir stands," I said, my voice carrying, iron-hard, into the stillness. "And he is ours."

the butler added without looking into his alpha's eyes, glaring daggers at him right this moment. Marcus' jaw clenched tightly in response. Running his fingers through his hair, Hunter arched up his lips into a devious smirk. "Then I guess I should get ready," Hunter said shooting daggers at the back of Alpha Marcus' head. With one last cold look at Hunter then me, Alpha Marcus strode off and out of the house with his butler. Hearing the engines roar to life before fading into the distance, I heaved out a breath and looked at my mate with knitted brows.

"Keep it steady!" I regained my footing between the bags, aimed, then took another two shots. One hit his upper arm, the other his shoulder, but he kept coming, unfazed by the gushing holes. I shifted my weight onto my other foot and grinned. I might not have stopped him, but the Thornblood dipped bullets had punctured him, binding shade and host to the same satisfying fate. I fired one last time, hitting him strait between his soulless eyes.

Albert, one of the best archers on his team, had the class of a Forest Ranger, and he knew he was dead. The stealth skill which he received from his class made him an assassin at the same time, although he was an archer. It was the skill he held in the highest regard and the one he trained most. Now, even as he was in stealth, he was killed in cold blood. As he regarded the creature in front of him, which was using the body of a soldier, Evans grew increasingly frightened. While he tried to calm down his anger, blood runs from the corners of his mouth as his teeth began to grind against each other.

Somethin’ isn’t right there!’ Archie hollers as he and Aurelian finish off the now-visible attackers. Artemis spins around, heading back for the hospital, fishing into his bag of magic.

Now I am even the mate of one of the most reputable men in this forbidden bloody clan. "That alph-ass seems to have brainwashed you into thinking that we are the guilty ones. You must think that rogues are the source of guilt and sin, while the alphas are saints who are pure like an angel." Archer's voice sounded mocking, and I'm sure in his heart, he was laughing at me out loud. I froze angrily, staring at Archer.

His knowledge for weapons and ammunition were out of this world. Arrow, also known as Aaron Nelson, nudged me with his shoulder as he sat next to me. He didn’t need to say anything. I knew I would see him later and he would fuck the anger out of me. At work we were strictly coworkers, but outside of work, he was my personal porn star. Who could say no to blonde hair and dark eyes. He looked like Justin Hartley as Oliver queen which just made his nickname even more ironic. He was the most skilled archer in the world. Guns were nothing to him. He was more lethal with an arrow. He truly was a real life superhero with not only his skill on the team, but also in the bedroom.

“It had helped against the first war against witches and werewolves, but I don’t know how well it worked. I was taken captive long before the war ended. For all I knew, the witches just grew tired of the war and stopped. Yet I do know of one thing that can help, even if just a little.” Archer seemed thoughtful for a moment, almost as if he weren’t sure if he should say whatever was on his mind. I wasn’t sure how I should feel about him being so involved with things. On the one hand, he had a protective bond with my mate, which gave him a bit of an in on matters involving her. Yet, on the other hand, he was a dragon, not a werewolf.

Archer stepped back from the body on the sand, lowering his sword. He looked up, straight at the King, and the stands went silent as he slowly removed his helmet. Dark hair lifted in the dust and breeze, blue eyes locking on the Alpha King’s stunned face. The gasp was universal. “I’m Archer Whitlock, former Alpha General, and I’m here... to reclaim my rank!!!”
