Alpha Calvin This morning ended up being an absolute shit show, that prick of an Alpha lied through his stinking teeth to get us to help him and god knows how many other packs he told that lie to. I don't understand why he did it and I don't understand why he had a problem with his Beta's son being gay. Fuck I couldn't give a fuck what your sexual preference is, it doesn't define you and it certainly doesn't stop you from being a good person.

That makes them fucked up in my mind. Met the guy in charge. He is called an Alpha apparently. He looks like he is beefed up on steroids quite honestly. But Aunt D told me that is normal for an Alpha from her research and it is nothing to do with steroids, they are just naturally bigger when they are an Alpha. But he seems a nice enough guy, this Alpha Lachlan, though I don’t plan on staying here, so I couldn’t care less. Met his second in command I guess you call them, which is a Beta – see I am learning already (yeah sarcasm). This Beta seems a decent enough guy. Quite young looking, pretty good looking to be fair. Some decent tattoos. And a wicked sense of humour.

Everyone looked around when I asked. A young male in his late teens stepped up, “Alpha, the beta was killed a few nights ago. His body was sent back by the Woodmoon pack.” “Did he have a missing eye?” The young man nodded. So, the beta is who tried to hurt Mel. Good thing he is dead, or I would have killed him on the spot. “I see, please gather all the beta males and females, and I will pick one.”

“Oh…that Alyssa.” He stepped forward with a calm smile. “I’m Steve, Duncan’s Beta.” He said stretching forth his hands. Beta? So that was what he was. But Duncan was a very weird person. Why didn’t he introduce me to his Beta all this time? I took his hands and shook him. “Oh, it’s nice to meet you.” “Working as his personal assistant must be very exhausting.” He said in a teasing tone. “You have no idea.” “Can you both stop?” Duncan snapped with a frown plastered on his face.

“He is the best choice to replace the Alpha. He has no criminal record, and he’s absolutely clean. His mating ceremony is coming up next week, and that simply means in no time, he’d have a Luna.” The surprise and frustration within me came together to form rage, and I snapped. “You have no precedent!” “Oh, we do,” Elder Rhys smirked. “We already declared that we don’t need the Alpha’s leadership, and what a good thing that he isn’t here, but left his function in the hands of his elite beta.” “Because he’s out there, giving his all to save your stupid asses from sorcery!” I cried. “Are you out of your mind!”

and there it was—let’s see him deny that fact. Alpha Abel stepped away from Alan and came a little closer to me before moving toward Randy. “You shall go tell my uncle about it as my beta,” he said. Oh, so Randy was the new beta. “Tell him, his son is about to be a father and a husband.” Randy bowed low. “As you wish, alpha,” he said, but still hesitated.

Alpha, newly risen, still wearing the power like a coat that didn’t quite fit yet. Kael’s spine locked. He felt Blade uncoil inside him, slow and deliberate, like a blade sliding from its sheath. The door swung wide. Three men stepped through. The alpha led, twenty-two, maybe twenty-three, tall enough to fill the doorway, shoulders broad under a dark denim jacket. Confidence rolled off him in waves, but there was a flicker beneath it: the need to be seen as unbreakable. His beta flanked left, solid, quiet, eyes already mapping the room for exits and choke points. On the right came the gamma, leaner, quicker, with a lazy grin that promised trouble more than humor.

He always said that one day, we would have our ceremony and become true mates. It turned out he was lying from the very beginning. He wasn't a Beta; he was an Alpha. He wasn't coming back to claim me; he was already sharing his throne. I curled up on the floor, crying until my throat was raw, until my whole body shook with spasms.
