'Silly, girl, you should never run from a predator, and I was one Apex, motherfucking, predator. I thought as I tugged on my leather jacket and slung my cut over the top. Every patch had been earned the hard way; no one had ever given me an easy ride, and the two that gave me the most pleasure were simply the ones that red. 'President' and my biking name, Diamond, because I was hard and I was beautiful. I wasn't bigheaded or a narcissist; I could see what was in the mirror, and everyone commented on it. My face got me more pussy than I could handle, and I even had guys hitting on me, which amused my brothers no end.

To my surprise, I see Beatrice walking in. She is no longer in her maid’s uniform. Instead, she wears a simple t-shirt and pants, a small bag hanging from her shoulder. Her hair is tied back neatly, though her eyes are still slightly swollen.

It was a silly mistake, one I had no idea that I was committing. Quickly, I scrambled to answer him. "Master," I started, lowering my voice so that it would drip with remorse but not low enough for him to strain to catch my words. "Yes, I have met your sister. I have met Diana." My head had drooped so low at this point that my jaw was touching my neck and I was staring at my beautiful brown boots that had belonged to Diana, the Alpha's sister before.

Lucas yanked his hair back fiercely, blurted through his gritted teeth, " I promised to avenge, Damien but you beat me like a shit. Now look at yourself!" Damien smirked even though he was hurting, " You are..a coward..Lucas.. That's why..you are using..women to win against me.." Lucas glared at him hard and replied with a growl, " You are a coward to admit your defeat too fast. Let me show what an Alpha can do.."

He replies before walking away. Damon places two plates on the table, a well-cooked steak in each. “Don’t mind him, Alice.” He says, breaking the silence. “Who was he?” “My friend. A really close friend,” I nod, “Is he also a werewolf?” “Born and raised.” He replies. “Well, he seems . . . nice.” He chuckles, “He’s not nice.” “I mean, I don’t know him. He doesn’t know me,” “Jared’s not really fond with strangers. Once you get to know him well, he’s a lot different than you might think,” He replies before taking a bite of his food.

Is he mad that I touched it without his permission? With a scowl, he warned, “You can only touch the books, do not touch anything else without my permission.” “I am sorry,” I apologized without letting a single breeze pass by before doing that. I do not want him to get mad at me. Nothing scares me more than the thought of Alpha Damon hating me. I like that he is nice to me. I want it to remain that way for as long as I am here. But why did he get angry just because I touched a bracelet? Does it belong to the former Luna?

Alpha Walden then dismissed them and turned to Samara, “when I find this person, I’ll make them regret the day I ever became their alpha.” ********** Alpha Damian stared into the full-length mirror standing in front of him, he was shirtless, observing his features, the one which stood out the most were the huge battle scars that ran down his chest, it’s a part of himself he’s always hated for people to see; a part of himself he’s always disgusted with. The door of his room suddenly swung open and Katrina barged in mannerlessly, she’d come to the alpha at the wrong time because now, he wasn’t in the mood to welcome anyone into his chambers.

The significance of this moment is not lost on me as Alpha Maddox continues, "Damien, as Alpha, do you vow to protect and cherish Natalie, to lead your pack with her by your side, to honor and uphold her as your Luna?" Damien's intense gaze meets mine, a silent promise of strength and devotion. "I vow to protect and cherish Natalie with every ounce of my being," he declares, his voice commanding yet tender. "I will lead our pack with her wisdom as my guide, and I will cherish her as my equal in all things."

I don’t know why… but I just go with the flow. “So… you brought your boyfriend,” Luna Stella says, her eyes trailing from me to Ken. “This one’s human, right?” Cris tenses immediately. The moment Alpha Maelrik raises his head, the whole room shifts. “Is he your mate?” the Alpha asks, looking directly at Ken. “Yes, Alpha,” Cris replies, calm but firm. The Alpha’s gaze slides to me next. “And who is he, Damien?” Damien doesn’t flinch. He simply picks up an apple and feeds it to me. “None of your business,” he says without a trace of hesitation.

His name, his background and job, the things she never wanted to know was all in her head. His name is Carl Damien. He is the alpha of moon stone pack and he has an active sense of responsibility. And from what she heard the alpha knows what is best for every member of this pack. How come she never gave it a thought that the warlord could be the same man when they discussed about the alpha’s past relationship? The reason wasn’t far fetched, Brianna and Hazel never made mention of his name.
