"If I hide in my room while the pack house burns, I look like a coward. I can handle this." Logan looks at me for a long beat, seeing the absolute steel in my eyes beneath the dirt-smeared makeup. He slowly lowers his hand. "As you wish." I walk down the wide, sweeping stone staircase, the heavy scent of death and burning sage hitting my nose before I even reach the bottom. The grand Alpha Hall is a complete madhouse. A massive, black iron coffin sits right in the center of the polished stone floor, surrounded by heavy tallow candles. The Henderson family, clad in dark, torn leather mourning furs, stand in a tight defensive circle.

Suddenly, I heard a booming voice thundering across the battlefield. “Where is my daughter?!” a loud, male voice called. I whipped around to see none other than the Alpha King staggering through the doorway of the mansion. He leaned his hand against the doorframe, and as his eyes scanned the scene before him, his face became wrought with worry. His eyes then flickered down to see his dead daughter, Selena, laying on the steps with a gaping hole in her chest.

Sofia relayed to the gathering of the Alphas. There was murmuring and arguments in the Alpha's hall. The Alpha of the Usobo clan, a clan almost as fierce as the Mackenzie clan and on the far side of the South said she should be found and killed, while the Marja's Alpha (one of the battle fierce Alpha with a clan not too far from the Mackenzie clan and are referred to as the Red wolves because most of the wolves there has a red coat when they turn), argued that the Epsilon can be used to eradicate the Vamps ones and for all.

I waved at them—all of them who bowed and even those who didn't. It was good to be here. I felt good to be here. My gaze met Annora's and then the others who still bowed, waiting for me to get to my special chair before they would stop.
