His eyes were bright with shy pride as he crossed the room, holding it out to me. “Here,” he said softly. I looked down to see a tiny friendship bracelet made of braided red, yellow, and blue yarn, the ends knotted neatly, though a little uneven. My throat closed up as I took it from him, feeling the rough softness of the yarn against my fingertips. Tears instantly welled up, blurring the bracelet. “I made it for you last night when you were sleeping,” he whispered. “So you can be brave today.” I couldn’t speak. The tears spilled down my cheeks as I bent down, gathering him in my arms, pressing his small warm body against mine.

The slap had barely faded when he clamped the cold band of silver around her wrist. The shock hit her body instantly, sharp, burning, electric. She gasped and looked down. The inner edge of the bracelet was lined with teeth, cruel little fangs of metal that bit deep into her skin. Blood pooled in the grooves and dripped onto the sheets. “Patrick, ” But the name had barely left her lips before he backhanded her across the face. “It’s Alpha to you,” he snarled.

His tone of speech gives the impression that he is really angry. When he speaks to me, I recall the night when he was on me and I felt his strength inside of me. Ariel blubbered, as she held back her tears. Daniel flashed a smile at her as he reached behind and extracted a small, black box from his back pocket. He quickly popped it open, revealing a dazzling bracelet. It was white gold and decorated with the most beautiful diamonds Jessica had ever seen. In between each diamond was a miniature carving of the Alpha's wolf. "It's the Warmblood pack's tradition for the Alpha to gift his Luna a symbolic bracelet, representing her new title and their love," Kanyon explained. "Seems like you've been to quite a few mating ceremonies."

I knew that. I took a deep breath and nodded. Grabbing a potion out of my little sewing kit turned potion keeper, I took out a compact. The mirror showed the Alpha mark. The skin hadn’t scarred around where it was torn completely from my shoulder but there was the white silver mark. It was huge. The mark actually covered all of my shoulder and most of the side of my neck. It was an intricate mandala that reminded me more of lace than just a pattern. Usually the size and intricacy of the pattern depended on the strength of the mates. I had never seen one this size or complicated before. After looking over it one last time, I pulled the cork off the potion with my teeth and downed the liquid.

It’s not an expensive gift, it’s just a five-dollar handmade bracelet, it is a very cheap gift for an Alpha, and I know he may throw it away, but something in me keeps urging me to get him this bracelet because of the words inscribed on it. “Fated” I know it seems cliché, but I just have the urge to get him this bracelet.
