If you didn’t ask me, I wouldn’t have agreed to take this responsibility no matter what.” Then he paused and threw his arm back over the head of the chair and cocked a brow. “ why is it that you are doubting everyone but not me? I have to make decisions that benefit the whole pack and not just one melodramatic wolf.”

“Technically, you were trespassing. INDY I was in the hallway, right where a large window was placed. A book about werewolves was perched on my lap as I sat on the thick edge of the pane. It was a book about werewolf heats, and it was making my head ache. Fortunately, heats only affected Alphas and Omegas. Betas were still fertile, but they didn’t go through the usual cycle. They also smelled their mate’s scent but were not keen on anyone else’s. It was clear that the Moon Goddess wrote Alphas and Omegas to become destined for one another. Why did I have to get stuck with an Alpha? My wolf grumbled inside me, and I pursed my lips. Right—I was the one who wrote this story.

Alexa plopped on the bed and smiled sweetly at Ruby. “Wow, you are finally getting married. At least you are getting married, even if your husband is going to bang the hell out of you,” Alexa winked, and Ruby decided she had enough. “At least he’s an alpha; yours is a common werewolf. Have some damn respect,” she said, and Alexa’s smile suddenly disappeared. Her eyes turned sinister, and she scowled. “Don’t mess with me, Ruby. I can make your life hell,” she said, and Ruby shrugged. Now that she was leaving, she wasn’t going to hold back.
