I tell him, before I start running to hide, pulling Issac along with me. Issac and I find a spot behind a bush and sit down, waiting. “So, did you learn anything from this book?” I ask and he nods. “Maybe.” He pulls the book out of his back pocket and starts going through the pages. The wolf senses and light from the moon making reading in the dark, while still hard not impossible. He stops at a page and shows it to me. “Apparently, if this book knows anything real, there’s like a whole pack ran by a golden wolf. Like even now, the golden wolf is like their Alpha.” He explains and I take the book to read over it.

I run, heading towards my hidden weapons as I hear the sounds of my pack fighting again. 'No!' I growl though our link. We've already lost most of our fighters. 'You want us to submit?'Beta Kindley asks. I can't let the other continue to die when I don't see a way out myself. Somehow Kosta had turned over a hundred rogue werewolves into a pack. Rogues don't usually have a pack.

Alpha warned, unleashing a third of his magical power on Ned. The burning sensation in Ned's body was like a fire consuming his heart. He covered his chest and retreated, collapsing in pain when he could no longer stand. Alpha regarded the struggling Ned calmly and walked over to him. "Have you decided to comply?" he asked. "No, I'd die first," Ned gritted out through the pain. "Very well, then suffer," Alpha said, unleashing a wave of feral energy that assailed Ned's mind, causing him to scream in agony. The other werewolves watched silently from a distance.

“It was about… these powerful wolves, they were… different. More aggressive. They were called ‘rogue alphas’ in the stories. It’s just… a legend.” I stared at her, my brow furrowed. It sounded… flimsy. Like a story she’d made up on the spot. But a part of me wanted to believe her. The alternative, the idea that werewolves actually existed, was too unbelievable, too terrifying. “You read about that?” I asked. “That exact description?” I gestured to my sketchbook. “The glowing red eyes, the huge size… everything?” “Well, not exactly everything,” Amy said, avoiding my gaze. “But… the general idea. You know, powerful, dangerous wolves. It’s a common theme in those kinds of stories.”
