Sector 4. "The Blind Tiger" Nightclub. 11:00 PM. The alleyway smelled of synth-vapor and old rain. A singular red neon sign buzzed above a heavy steel door: MEMBERS ONLY. Altair Hale stood in the shadows, adjusting his cufflink. He wasn't wearing his usual Italian suit. He was wearing a shirt of black silk, unbuttoned at the collar, and a velvet blazer that absorbed the light. He had gelled his hair back, removing the polished "CEO" part, looking sharper, darker.

"He is not very nice to her. I think Arthur's fat head might have affected him," "Dagmar has two mates," "What?" she snorts. "Two? That's a possibility? How would this work?" she asks pointing at my arm. I hold out my right arm where my pack marks are to show her the triskele on my hand. "You have many marks, Alpha Jayk," "The gold ones are marks," I pull my sleeves up. "The colored ones are tattoos. Those I had someone do for me," "They're very pretty," she smiles tracing the gold spirals. "They're all connected. How do we know if we are the gold spiral or the black and red circle?"

I never stopped to ask if he any other tattoos besides the ones on his arms. I get dressed into my clothes from yesterday and move around the bed, as quiet as a mouse, so I don't wake Atlas up.
