“This getaway is our excuse to properly say goodbye to Elliot,” Mr. Perez cut in. “I know you and my son haven’t been the best to each other this year, but five years of friendship—you want that under the drain?”
“Mr. Perez, you’re right. Elliot and I have fought more than ever this year. And—”
“And you always forgive each other,” he interrupted again. “Your friendship is unbreakable. I’m sure whatever happened, you two will understand each other again. But for now, you have to come and say goodbye. If it helps, Chloe isn’t even invited.”
