He took off his tailored suit jacket and draped it over my shoulders, gently pulling me into his arms as he turned to leave.
"The next time I see you harassing her," he said without looking back, "the Marino family will disappear from this city."
Inside the armored sedan, Lorenzo gently wiped the tear tracks from my cheeks.
His touch was light, as if he were afraid of shattering something precious.
"Does it hurt?" he asked in a low voice.
I shook my head, but the tears fell even faster.
Lorenzo sighed and suddenly pulled me into his arms.
His clean, woody scent enveloped me, and his warm hand gently stroked my back.
