A deal almost too good to be true. Sometimes I think people want to be lied to. They want to enjoy the sensation of getting their just rewards. Even if it’s completely fake, the build-up is the same. And when you find out the truth, what have you lost? You’re in the same position as before, plus you had all that time when you were tricked into being happy. Meanwhile, my relentlessly honest approach has only gotten me sneers and accusations of being tactless. I guess I’m just not a fan of the well-meaning lie.

I didn't want to answer, but it clicked to me that maybe, if a conversation were to lighten the mood, I‘d be out of here sooner. I swallowed, not sure where he was going with this or what he wanted to hear. “Well, I… I suppose if it was really betrayal,” I said slowly, “I’d confront them. Ask them to be honest with me.” “Honesty,” he muttered, as if the word left a bad taste in his mouth. He let out a dark, humorless laugh. “Funny thing about honesty is that sometimes, it’s a lot easier to believe a lie.“

“Shame on you.” “But you do it all the time!” “Hey!” I pointed a finger at him. “I’ll have you know that I am an honest liar!” “What does that even mean?” “It means…” I placed a hand over my heart and stared into Ren’s eyes. “..That I put a lot of effort into lying and when I do lie, I honestly do it with all my heart and full of emotions that it makes you feel that I am telling the truth.” I smiled peacefully as soon as the words left my mouth as if I just gifted them a bit of my wisdom.

I started, placing one hand on her shoulder to show temporary comfort. "I'll tell you about something called the almadate. My friend Luke, the tall one you must have seen with me on news, he invented it as a temporary means against the liar gas so when you told me you found out I was bisexual, the only way to protect myself was to lie." I sighed, moving further up the bed, drawing my knees to my chest and leaning my elbow against them. "But that's the same thing as lesbianism." She pointed out, a disapproving look on her face.

He was telling the truth, or at least a part of it. “Hm…” I hummed and without warning, I grabbed a pen from the nearby table and hurled it at him. Liam caught it instantly, his reflexes sharp, precise. His fingers barely moved, and yet he’d snatched it out of the air like it was the easiest thing in the world. He arched a brow, "What exactly are you trying to do?" I shrugged, feigning innocence, "Just testing something." Liam tossed the pen back onto the table with a knowing look, "Right."

“I thought... Where’s the but?” “The but is that sometimes... sometimes you can lack a filter?” Liviana says, careful of her words as if not wanting to set off a bomb. “And that’s a bad thing?” Leona grows exasperated, not seeing their point as the surrounding four agree. “So, what? I’m honest! Since when does that make someone a bad person?!” “It doesn’t.” Violet assures. “It’s just that... at times.... you can be a little too honest.” “And it’s not a bad thing.” Liviana goes on, stepping in before Leona could start up again. “I’d like a truth teller, above a liar. Even if they can be a little blunt at some of the wrong times.”

I inquired, raising the volume of my voice. "How does being honest contribute to the management of a crisis?" Andrew responded, unruffled by the remark, that "sometimes it's the best answer." "Most people appreciate honesty. Even if they don't agree with it, it seems natural to them when they hear it. If you want to trick people into believing a falsehood, you have to cover up the sour taste with enough sugar to fool them. The truth is always more palatable than lies.

“It’s something that’s not true.” “Hmn. But I have a longer version which I want you to imbibe. As punishment, you will take a notebook and pen from the dressing table. Then you will write down this definition fifty times. A lie is any false information given with the intention to deceive. Can you repeat that, Sweetheart?” “A lie is any false information given with the intention to deceive.” Inara recited grudgingly but he ignored her countenance. “Good, you’re submitting it before bedtime. That should give you some work to do before I get back.”

Su Lan: “I ate the antidote. I had made it beforehand (Lies without blinking).” Su Lan (in her mind): One of the good things about my poker face and hardly ever speaking lies is that everyone would believe me even if I did lie. Oh well this counts as a white lie...after all I did have a blessing skill to be immune to all poison. I didn’t really… lie. Su Lan brainwashed herself to try to believe it was the truth too. The highest level of lying is to make oneself believe it was the truth! A lie told with half truth and half fake is most believable.

If there is one thing I hate more than anything it's people who lie. I will never understand people who lie because the truth always comes out in the end and then everyone hates you for lying in the first place. I had spent an entire week with Ellie. We had actually become pretty good friends with each other in that short amount of time so to know she was lying to me actually hurt like a bitch. I told her she could trust me, but it would seem she's still struggling to understand that concept even though I have done nothing to show her otherwise.
