His Unbeloved Queen
They watched in awe at the tiny boy I held.
“He is so small!” the youngest exclaimed.
“You were that small,” the eldest replied.
“I was not!”
“You were!”
“I was not!” he argued, making me chuckle.
“I can end this discussion quickly,” I said, drawing their attention back to me. “You were both that small at some point, and now you’ve grown bigger, and you will continue to grow.”
“He will too?” the youngest inquired, pointing at the baby.
“Yes, he won’t stay this small forever. And you’ve seen how tall your uncle is, right?”
