Fire and Water
The god cackled and it filled him completely, the sound like a bass drum rumbling viscerally.
The clouds convulsed and a great bolt of pure light flew into his body; the porthole . . . his naval. Like a puppet on a string, his back arched painfully to the point where his feet could be seen bent over backwards. An all-consuming fire surged through his body and kissed every limb, cell, and nerve ending. Nothing was left untouched by the flare of agony. It was so painful . . . so real and total, that hot, angry tears cascaded down his face and with one last desperate breath, he cried out for death.
