She saw the moonlight reflected on the ocean, casting a glow across the water. She looked around, unsure where she was. Then, just ahead of her, she saw two massive, shimmering tails. The tails glittered silver in the moonlight, sometimes above water, sometimes below. When they slapped the surface, the splashes sparkled like pearls. They weren’t moving fast—almost as if they were waiting for her. Annabelle stopped drifting and used her fastest, most familiar stroke to swim toward those two magnificent tails.

“Hey, Miss Mable.” The head of the Kincade family turned to her with a smile. “Just worried about the crates. They’re full of ice packs and flowers, some are actually real petals for the aisle path and some are full bouquets and singles. There’s gonna be flowers everywhere. Did you know that this tree has been here since—well, we call it the Kincade Tree and it’s gonna be the altar.” “Wow!” Maggie stared at the magnificent tree, then she looked all around. She spotted Jet as he helped unload a truck. OH, NO. Her breathing picked up. “Well, I got 2 rooms left. then I will be able to help set up the reception area.”

In the cramped tunnel, his fine blond hair blew across his silver eyes in the wind that Daniels wings sent back each time they pulsed. He looked so young, but of course, he was just as old as any of them.

They were like sentinels in the dark with their wings spread out to its full width, shoulders hunched, and body bent forward in preparation for flight. Their faces weren’t prominent in the dim moonlight, but the statues looked so perfect. I would have thought they were real if Erick hadn’t told me otherwise.

It’s clear that she is the divine offspring of God, the creator of all things, and Selene, the creator of all shifters. But what steals my breath away are her wings, almost translucent yet radiating with neon hues. They span several yards in each direction, reaching above her head and cascading down to her ankles, a mesmerizing sight that leaves me in awe.
