Clutching her father’s hand, Anita proceeded down the aisle, her heart beating erratically in her chest.
She stared ahead and saw the Stranger standing there, splendid and breathtaking, in a white Armani suit. His friend was standing behind him. The Stranger’s eyes never left mine as I walked toward him. And it felt like walking towards my doom.
Anita took a deep breath; her insides turned somersaults, her thighs shook, and her legs turned to jelly. She stumbled, and the Stranger reached out and grabbed her before she fell. “Oops, sorry.” She was embarrassed. Mr. King looked down at her.
