“—when I ran test on her blood and the venom, I realized that it had somehow mutated genetic—retroviral ones, cross-spliced with active lupine genomes.” His brows dipped. “English, Ashina.” I glared at him. That had been his line—back when I’d ramble about my lab work. He didn’t understand a thing but he wanted to. A tiny shard of nostalgia wedged itself into my ribs. Kael’s eyes flashed like the memory hit him too. I shoved both the nostalgia and that look aside. “It’s engineered,” I said. “The venom in the bite was altered.” Kael swore under his breath as something like recognition flickered behind his expression, and immediately pulled his phone out and began typing furiously, his jaw loc

“It’s you, you brat! I haven’t taught you a lesson after what happened last time yet, and how dare you appear in front of me?!” Avery stuck his tongue out. “I’m standing right here. What can you do to me?” Penelope was so angry that she stomped on the floor. Then she saw the flyer on the floor, and her face twisted into an ugly scowl. She grabbed Avery by the collar and screamed, “How dare you come here to make up accusations? I’m going to tear your mouth to shreds!” No matter how brave Avery was, he was still a child. Penelope’s aggression scared him and he bit Penelope’s hand.

Or better yet, kill them all. Four homunculi jumped to Vladimyr at once. I dealt with the two of them at his back whilst he swished his sword that has titanium at the edges to the two in front of him. With that, they had turned to ashes instead of their blood and flesh spraying to the snow again. “How did that happen?” Rori gaped from a distance. I didn’t even notice that the twins were near us since we were all too occupied dealing with multiple beasts at once. “Bloodlust.” “Pheromones.” Both me and my mate answered in unison.

"She hates me... she wants me to bleed... but she would never lie about my blood!" The stranger behind the glass did not answer. He simply tucked the digital recorder into his heavy trench coat and pulled a sleek, military-grade suppressive pistol from his waistband. The barrel was fitted with an extended chamber designed specifically to fire heavy, fluid-filled darts containing concentrated silver-nitrate venom—a substance engineered to liquefy a Lycan’s internal organs from the inside out within sixty seconds. The assassin raised the weapon, aligning the laser sight directly with Alexander’s chest through the plexiglass.

“Don’t get too angry or violent. Remember, you’re not entirely treated yet. That Ashen Venom reacts very well to intense violence and rage.” I turned slightly, smirking. “You exaggerate everything, Shawn. I didn’t lose control when I went to rescue Lior.” “That was different,” he replied instantly. “You were acting on protection instincts, not bloodlust. You weren’t trying to kill. You were trying to save your boy.” I rolled my eyes. “You’re insufferable.” He didn’t smile. “The venom reacts to instincts rooted in domination, violence, and power,” he continued. “That’s what this meeting is about. Don’t forget that.”

Venom muttered “And the last is………..Nile” I pointed at him and he had a shocking and surprising look on “Me?” He asked pointing at himself “Hmmm, don't forget our deal, I trust you” I said to him and sat down “Wow why do I feel like this is emotional?” War said touching his eyes “Me too, I feel like crying” Asha replied “Amy take the bottle?” Kelvin passed it to me and I took it and spinned, it stopped right in front of Venom

As the saliva touches the ground, the place where it dropped smoked. Venom. The freaking Black Shaol was dripping with venom. "How can we fight it when it's dripping its venom?" Marjien asked. She had already drew her sword and was now prepared to fight. Only Theo and Jucel were not holding a weapon. "Avoid it," Chloe deadpanned before she jumped to attack first.

It had a strange, milky viscosity to it, a chemical sheen that caught the harsh light of the room. "Liquid fire," I whispered, the realization making my stomach drop. "It’s a localized coagulant neurotoxin. Arthur Vance’s old research from the Oakhaven facility. They’re coating the rounds, Vulture. Even a graze will freeze the lungs in twenty minutes if we don't counter it."
