The diamond slipped from my pocket and skidded across the polished floor. No. No, no, no A hand reached down and picked it up before I could. Slowly… I looked up. And for the first time that night I felt something close to fear. He was tall. Composed. Dangerous in a way that didn’t need to be loud. His dark eyes locked onto mine like he already knew everything. A slow smirk curved his lips. “I had a feeling you’d show up,” he said calmly. “ The notorious jewel thief.” My stomach dropped.

She walked toward me, the heels of her white boots clicking with a rhythmic, military precision on the glass floor. "Human?" She tilted her head, her white-gold eyes scanning me with clinical curiosity. "Dante Thorne was a Prime Alpha, Zora. A creature of instinct and territorial aggression. He didn't love you. He was addicted to the way your Void catalyzed his own power. He was a junkie, and you were his ultimate high." "You’re lying," I spat, struggling against the cuffs. The Null-Field surged, sending a sharp, stinging jolt of electricity through my nerves. I gasped, my head falling back against the cold metal of the slab.

The way the word plagiarist started to feel less like an accusation and more like a name. Last time, I'd hidden in my apartment for ten days. A rental in Brooklyn, nothing fancy, but it had walls and a lock. They'd found it anyway. Someone had hung a sign on the door: THIEF. Another had spray-painted FRAUD across the front window while I watched from behind the blinds.

A young man clad in a dark hoodie snatched Fiona's purse. It happened so fast, I was rooted to the ground as I watch Vanilla turn in a speed of light, letting go of my hand. The thief was about to jump the fence to the other side when Vanilla jumped on the dumpster beside her as she swung a knife -- where the fuck did she get a damn knife?-- right into the man's wrist, the knife hit the right spot as the man dropped the purse, clenching his bloody hands. He let out curse words as he staggered, Vanilla jumped down from the dumpster, the thief staggered and fell right in front of her.

he murmured. I swallowed hard, forcing myself to focus. “How do we stop him?” Damian’s expression was grim. “You don’t.” Luca growled, his patience thinning. “That’s not an option.” Damian sighed. “The Phantom has an army. And not just any army—an army of rogues, spies, and assassins. He doesn’t fight fair, and he doesn’t leave witnesses.” A sharp pain shot through my head. “Then we need to find his weakness.”

Harry, if you're attempting to control her—" Harry, however, stopped him in his tracks. He gave Nathan a menacing glare and pushed the gun's barrel back into the air with a flick of his wrist. "You believe you are in charge? You're not. You've never been. His eyes were knowing and dark as he returned his focus to Anita. "Anita, do you not understand? The vault of WraithNet? The cash? It isn't anything. The prize is you. You were always. At his words, Anita flinched from head to toe. Like ice in her veins, the chilling realisation slowly seeped into her. "No. No, you're not correct. I'm not this person. I—

She nodded and bid us goodbye. As we walked away, my mind returned to the strange feeling I had when I shook her hand. The familiarity of her grip. The way her eyes had scanned me for a brief second. It reminded me too much of Joanne. They both had that same energy. The energy you sense only from people trained to fight. People connected to the Phantom Syndicate. One of the groups we had been investigating. And now, more than ever, I hoped my suspicion was wrong. But deep inside, I knew it was not. ******* LMCD22

When they turned the corner of Sector C, the security lights flickered again—just long enough for Adriana to catch a glimpse. A shadow slipping through the hall. Tall. Agile. Ghostlike. “There!” she shouted. Gunfire erupted, echoing off the marble walls, but the Phantom was already gone, vanishing through a ventilation shaft with impossible speed. “They’re not trying to kill,” Adriana breathed. “They’re here for something.” And she was right. Deep beneath the mansion, in a reinforced archive room, the Phantom stood before a biometric safe. A single black-gloved hand pressed against the scanner. A click. The door opened.

Not a Grey-Walker or a Liquidator, but one of the Shop’s true enforcers, a creature twelve feet tall, draped in armor made of crushed ledgers, wielding a scythe tipped with a shard of the Void. "Elara Thorne," the Collector boomed, the sound vibrating in the floorboards. "The Owner has noted your interference. Your account is being forcibly closed." I didn't have a sword. I didn't have Kaelen's shadow-mantle. I had only the silver threads and the weight of the black pearl pulsing in my chest. "I've had enough of your notes," I snarled. I reached out, grabbing the silver threads that connected the floating buildings to the mountain. I didn't pull them; I wove them. I spun a web of silver ligh

But worries was still visible in my voice. "He already know--" I heard gunshots in the other line. My eyes widened, I heard noises, screams and gunshots. "Nate, what's happening?" "He already know the you are alive!" Even he did not spout a name, I know who is he talking about. I massage my temple, The car started to move.
