“I just need the truth.” Now, two weeks later, she sat waiting for him in a quiet café near the harbor. The place smelled of coffee and sea air. Harold arrived exactly on time, an old man in a dark coat and hat, carrying a worn leather briefcase. His sharp blue eyes missed nothing as he slid into the seat across from her. “You’ve been busy,” he said without greeting. “So have you,” Annabelle replied softly. “Did you find anything?” He placed the briefcase on the table but didn’t open it yet. “Before I show you this, you need to understand—what I found could ruin people. It’s the kind of evidence that doesn’t just end careers. It ends lives.”

"You won't want to Liam, and I don't blame you, it was horrible," She let out. "But I still want to know, we need everything we can get to lock these people up for a long time," "Yeah, well, I think the most horrible event was watching Seventeen women get burnt alive," She revealed and he had his mouth opened in shock, he couldn't shut them when if he wanted to, Seventeen was a lot, he couldn't wrap his arms around why they would burn Seventeen women alive, he suddenly remembered a part he had read in Annette's diary, she didn't go in details, no it was more like she was writing a poem and he had thought that it was just a sad poem, bit now looks like it was a real-life event.

The image of Annette, pale and sedated on her hospital bed lingered in her mind throughout the drive home. Annette was a horrible person, and Macy did hate her. She hated her for all the ways she had humiliated her, harmed Will multiple times and tried to make her homeless. The last straw had been the kidnapping she had orchestrated. The fact that she had tried to get her taped solidified the hate Macy felt for Annette.

“Because you made her leave with your lies. You thought one day you’d replace her. You never did. And you never will.” He turned his chair toward the window, dismissing her with silence. Yvette left with clenched fists. He’d messed up. He knew it. He fell for Yvette’s lies and now, it was too late. Anne was gone. He’d searched every corner of the world for her but she was nowhere to be found. Later that afternoon, Anne sat in her office, a wide screen glowing before her as a major corporate client appeared on the other end of a video call. “Ms. Hathaway ,it’s an honor to have you oversee our flagship project. Annette could hear the door to the storage room opening and his voice spilling into the hallway. She quickened her steps, desperately wanting to hide. Just as she reached the room and she walked in, Xavier stepped out of the room. Annette placed her ear on the door to hear what Xavier would say next. "And do not disappoint me," he ordered. She could hear their footsteps moving down the hallway. Soon after, she heard the familiar dig of the elevator. Annette waited for a few moments to see if they would come back, and when Annette waited for several heartbeats to see if they would return, and when they did not, she walked out of the room to the hallway.
