She turned to Lexi in a mix of horror and shock and saw the same emotions mirrored in Lexi's eyes as she cast her gaze over the corpse in front of them. "What the fuck is that?!" Ann breathed in trepidation as she fully grasped just how otherworldly this thing was.

Then, inside his head, a conclusion formed based on Ann's reaction. The look on Hans' face gave Ann a feeling of dread and chills. She sensed malicious intent from within Hans' words. Ann suddenly wanted to leave this place quickly. This man was so scary that it made Ann uncomfortable to linger here. Why was she only able to feel this horror now? Hans' gaze was like the gaze of a wicked person, like the gaze of a psychopath. "Goodbye, Hans," Ann answered, ending the conversation, then she quickly got into the car.

I turned the light back on. The scream that tore from my lungs wasn't human. The attic was packed. Hundreds of them. Not just my collection, but things that had crawled out from the eaves, from the crawlspaces, all wearing the faces of dolls I had never seen. They were all staring at the light, their pupils shrinking in unison, a sea of black dots vanishing into porcelain voids. They didn't retreat this time. They flinched, but they kept coming. "Don't look," a voice whispered from directly behind my ear. It sounded like Lady Genevieve. "It hurts to look."

He was watching the movie from the gaps of his fingers. When the movie ended it was already past eleven. We climbed the stairs to our rooms with the guys stopping on the second floor and me climbing to the third floor to my room.
