He arrived with Cassian and several of his team members, his presence sharp.
The meeting began. Sterling’s marketing manager presented their findings, but I could feel Sterling’s eyes on me the entire time. I didn’t flinch, didn’t give him the satisfaction of noticing.
After the meeting, Cassian’s voice cut through the room. “Next week, Saturday, we’ll be having our engagement anniversary party, and I expect all of you to be there,” he announced.
Polite applause followed. Mr. Everhart was the first to leave, then Cassian and the others trickled out. Sterling, however, stayed behind.
