Behind them, invisible through the trees, the quinta was being entered by four vehicles' worth of Viktor Solen's extraction unit. Ten seconds. Five. Dante's phone showed 10:55:00. He looked at Elian. Elian looked at him. The publication cascade triggered at 10:55:02. Dante's monitor lit up — server confirmations, partner publication acknowledgments, the cascade beginning its roll across seventy-three platforms, the four simultaneous partner publications going live, Selene's remote trigger registering as confirmed. He watched the confirmations come in one after another like doors opening in sequence, each one irrevocable.

It hasn’t rained in at least a week, the forest is very dry. For a moment the flames dance in a way that makes me think they are trying to tell a story. I shake my head but the flames continue to form the shape of people. Suddenly the people begin the run from a darkness that makes the flames disappear for a moment. What is going on? The smoke fills my lungs and I begin to gasp for air. I look up, the smoke in the sky is black and thick. The smell of burnt pine is making it hard to breathe.

And across the city, a message appeared on hacked billboards and phone screens: “THE KING AND QUEEN WILL BURN.” Amara stood on the balcony again, watching her empire burn in real time. She had never felt rage so pure, so unfiltered. It surged through her like venom. “They think fire will scare me?” she spat, her fists trembling. “I am fire.” Dante grabbed her shoulders, grounding her. “We fight smart, Amara. Not reckless. That’s what they want—to drag us into the flames blind.” But Amara wasn’t listening. In her chest, the inferno had already been lit.

"Back OFF!" Petalwing dive bombed Zephyr. "You giant douche nozzle!" Brambleblitz waggled a finger. "You mess with our friends again, and I'll personally hex your ass so hard your ancestors feel it." Zephyr raised his hands. "Alright, alright, damn. Backing off." They both retreated, and I wanted to scream. Instead, I took a deep breath and shouted, "Can people just leave me the FUCK alone for five minutes?!"

She lifted something into the air with both hands. Brea sucked in a huge breath when she finally realized that Victoria held a baby high into the air, a bright blue blanket swathed the boy as he began to cry. The whole beautiful setting turned from a sparkling scene to a black ash color before her very eyes. Everything blurred and the once bright colors ran together, like a Rockwell painting gone wrong. She could hear a loud roaring, it sounded like that time when a tornado passed close to where she lived in town last year. Her body shook as her stomach heaved. This can’t be real! She leaned her head back and screamed, “NOOOO!”

I barely cracked my eyes open, squinting at Simon a short distance away. His lips quivered, but no words came out. I surrendered to the pain, closing my eyes as blows rained down, each one burrowing into my bones. I could not even muster the energy to feel hatred. 'Simon, we're done for good,' I told myself. Nicole's wails crescendoed, finally jolting Simon out of his paralysis. "Stop, just stop! Ella, make them stop!" Simon barked. Ella reluctantly gestured for the beating to end.

He snapped his fingers as a blast of blue flame consumed the prince’s token. [Alcione out] “Woah!” Xander started patting on it as the token turned red. his clothes started to burn as well. “Prince Alexander!” Mordecai quickly went to his prince’s aid to douse the flame with water. The prince’s clothes were burnt, showing his chest underneath, it had turned red and showed some signs of first-degree burns. “Why are you burned?” Johan asked as he went closer to Xander and his aid. “Aren’t you a fire mage?”

Blair asked as she understood that Fia was with them. "To negotiate..." the words of the girl made her chuckled when she said, ''Why is everyone suddenly wants to negotiate?'' ''I don't know about everyone but I want to..." The girl in front of Blair was a pure brunette, with little freckles all around her nose and cheeks, her fresh and fair skin was like cream. "Who are you, anyway?" Blair asked when she walked closer and replied, "Blaze is the name." "I can give you Fia right away if I get 10cartons of ammo by tomorrow night," Blaze spoke with a poker face and Blair was quiet for a whole second.

I rubbed my eyes, realizing I must have fallen asleep on the foreign bed. I stood up, my movements much slower and more cautious now. A burning heat continued to torch the room as I shuffled over to the door. I wiped the sweat from my brow as I grabbed the door handle. My hand flinched back, burned by the flaming heat. A sick feeling of dread slowly began to take hold within me. Why was the room hot? Why was the door handle burning? I took a deep breath through my nose and, for the first time, realized it stunk of smoke. The house was on fire!

a voice croaked, barely escaping the lips of my beloved, Amara. "Azize!" I shouted, sprinting forward while my heart soared with a mix of relief and dread. But before I could reach her, she faltered, almost collapsing as she struggled to maintain her balance. Her loyal companion - Blaze - a once majestic warrior with proud vigor - was slumped over her shoulders, visibly weakened. "Blaze!" Poppy cried out, her voice filled with concern as she rushed to support a man tortured almost to death.
