I rubbed my eyes, realizing I must have fallen asleep on the foreign bed. I stood up, my movements much slower and more cautious now. A burning heat continued to torch the room as I shuffled over to the door. I wiped the sweat from my brow as I grabbed the door handle. My hand flinched back, burned by the flaming heat. A sick feeling of dread slowly began to take hold within me. Why was the room hot? Why was the door handle burning? I took a deep breath through my nose and, for the first time, realized it stunk of smoke. The house was on fire!

a voice croaked, barely escaping the lips of my beloved, Amara. "Azize!" I shouted, sprinting forward while my heart soared with a mix of relief and dread. But before I could reach her, she faltered, almost collapsing as she struggled to maintain her balance. Her loyal companion - Blaze - a once majestic warrior with proud vigor - was slumped over her shoulders, visibly weakened. "Blaze!" Poppy cried out, her voice filled with concern as she rushed to support a man tortured almost to death.

His guard said. "Moon goddess, I know that we are all definitely gonna die, even if we survive, the people have died already so no use of us living, before I die I want to make this prayer to you, make life useless for Alexis, destroy their life, curse them, and make them regret ever living." He prayed and almost immediately, the building collapsed, they tried to run away but it was too late, it falls on them and that's the end of Windham pack, Alpha Blaze and his people.

Damen’s daughter’s husband said. Zahir looked behind him, finding himself surrounded by knights. Amor Blaze. I didn’t like that man. He matched Damen’s strength. Although Damen clearly held back when he was fighting against him. I tried to control him wholly, but even after dying, I could completely control Damen. But it wasn’t Amor’s strength that made me dislike him — it was his soul print — Amor Blaze’s soul print was brighter than normal souls. Much brighter, as if he was carved out of pure light with no mix of darkness at all. Such souls had no place in my dark utopia.

I answered. Amara stepped forward, unshaken. “I didn’t call you to destroy the world.” The world burned me first. Now I return the favor. The sky darkened further as the creature descended. The earth beneath us cracked. The city began to fall apart. Wolves tried to flee, but the flames moved faster. It wasn’t just fire. It was memory, hate, pain. It consumed the very essence of whatever it touched. I grabbed Amara’s arm. “We have to move.”

Damascus let out a flame as far as he could in a attempt to reach them before they were able to increase their distance. He was pissed to see their tails still hightailing it out of the forest after the flames had dissipated. Cain looked to Damascus, "Get her out of here," Damascus easily flipped the SUV back over so it sat rightfully on it's blown tires. Amara pushed herself from the SUV and reached for Damascus. She clung to him as her life depended on it. Damascus helped her to swing herself so that she was sitting on his back to get her from the sight of the crash.

“Then we do this together.” Celeste nodded. “The first fire will be named. The justification dismantled. And the pattern broken.” Outside, the city lights flickered on as evening settled. The world continued, unaware of the history written into ash beneath its feet. Evelyn looked once more at the folder on the table. Fires. Names. Lies framed as necessity. The first fire had been lit in fear. This time, the truth would burn instead. And it would not stop until the pattern was gone.

"Forget the favour I owe your father, you'll die today. Right here and right now!" A gun was trailed on him and a shot was fired. Omar didn't have much time to react, he only took a step back but Parvina, without thinking stepped in to block the bullet but because she was shorter, the bullet meant for Omar's left shoulder hit her straight in the forehead. She crumbled down to the floor, dead.

"Don't come in, Serena! This place is about to blow! You guys need to run!" Raiden was still heading out with Celia in his arms, but he paused when he heard my words. He looked back in disbelief at me. All warmth left his eyes, as though he were looking at a stranger. "How am I now realizing you're so sly, Winifred? "The firefighters will be here and can control the flames in half an hour! What will our colleagues think of me now that you're saying this place will blow up? Can't you be a little more considerate like Celia?"

Mona's POV The phoenix-fire residue was so faint I almost missed it—a single scorched leaf fifty miles north of our territory, carrying Vesna's corrupted signature like a bitter aftertaste. "She was here," Nova confirmed, her fingers trembling as she traced the burn pattern. "The Amaya-pattern underneath is unmistakable. Our family's fire, but wrong. Twisted. Like someone took a song and played it backwards."
