(Ryan Mitchell's POV) Night fell over the hospital room. I sat beside Aaron's bed, staring at the untouched food tray. "Alpha Steel, it's been a whole day. You really should eat something." Aaron sat propped up in bed, wearing a Bluetooth headset, his golden eyes focused on his phone screen. I peered over and saw two adorable children live streaming. He would rather watch pups than take care of his health. A thought sparked in my mind. What if I messaged the two pups? I could ask them to persuade Aaron to eat, claiming his friend was seriously ill.

The world inhaled. Aaliyah whispered, "She did not." Jack, on Sterling Tower's roof, looked up from where Katherine was trying to keep his marked blood from becoming architecture. "She did." Marcus said, "I like it." Fenrir roared. The livestream shook. Haley's phone screen split down the center but kept broadcasting because Aaliyah had quietly routed the signal through six satellites, three mirror ships, a dead universe choir node, and one smart refrigerator in Hoboken. CLAIRE'S POV "Room 304." I exhaled, staring at my room number. It was on the highest floor, and I had dragged my suitcase all the way up. I didn't know how they assigned dorms, but when I went back to Madam Gretchen's office to get my bags, she told me I was in Raven dorm, which was apparently the best dorm according to the handbook I read.
