“Thank you.” Camerin gave a short nod and walked off, already barking orders at a group of late-arriving warriors. I turned to see Tyler leaning against the far fence, arms crossed, eyes unreadable. “Are you spying on me again?” I asked, only half teasing. “Always,” he said, stepping forward. “You were incredible.” I held up the blade. “I didn’t win.” “You showed up. You bled. You didn’t stop.” He came close, brushing a lock of damp hair off my cheek. “That’s how warriors are made, Kathryn. Not by winning. By showing up every day ready to fight.”

“Every day.” “Just yourself or others?” “Both.” “You lead training for...?” “The top warriors.” The rhythm between us was rapid-fire, like a verbal ping-pong match. I laughed when Blake imitated the fall, making Ariana nearly spit out her juice. (Cara's POV) In my dream, I kneeled before a white-haired man, surrounded by a few people that I was sure I had never seen before, but strangely, they felt familiar. "Catalyn of the Red Blood Pack, you have proven yourself once more, and finally, we believe you have all the qualities to become one of our warriors, the first ever female to become a warrior," he said, his voice filled with pride.
