A dead crow. Its head was twisted at a weird angle, throat cut clean open like someone had used a surgeon’s knife instead of claws. The cut was too perfect, too precise for any normal animal attack. Blood had dried around the wound, dark and flaky. One glassy eye stared up at nothing. Tied to its thin leg with a bit of rough string was a small piece of parchment, the kind you tear from an old notebook. On it, one single word scratched in what looked like dried blood. Soon.

--- The creatures are not alive. Skeletons clad in sand-armor, their ribcages cradling pulsing violet fungi. They move in silence, scimitars of bone gleaming under the twin suns. Eden's crows dive, but the sand-armor dissolves them, acidic grains eating through feathers and flesh. "Run!" I snarl, but the city answers.

Ash grumbles, “So, fucking wrong.” Crow nods, “Not disagreeing.” He frowns, “I need to do some research to be sure, but there is some magic that he could be attemptin’. I don’t want to say until I’m sure mind. But if I’m right, it would be very bad for everyone.” Crow looks worried, but pulls out a book and writes a note in it. He stares at the page for a while, then sighs and closes the book. “I’ll let you know when I have any answers though, Darlin’.” She furrows her brow,

She held out her hand, and for a second, the white void slowed down. "I can see the text underneath!" Mina shouted over the rising wind of the void. "It’s not being destroyed... it’s being Struck Through! Someone is drawing a line through the South’s history!" Suddenly, a shadow fell over the grey village. The Giant Crow we had seen on our roof plummeted from the sky, landing atop the blurred remains of the village well. It was six feet tall, its feathers made of shredded black silk. In its beak, it held a pair of Silver Scissors, the kind used by a Master Tailor, but large enough to decapitate a man.

Warm radiance had filled her, whether from the soft vibrating or not she couldn’t tell. Then something—the girl’s glare, or something in the murky woodland beyond the lighted window maybe—caused the mocking crow to squawk in panic. Its gloss-black wings flared and it defecated and launched itself from the ledge. Mouth agape, it hit an ivy-covered tree in its rush and dashed the brains out of its sleek-shaped skull before tumbling dead into the brambles below.

All of his hype comes from his brothers, how good-looking he is or horny people who like smut-filled books. His brothers are just as famous as him. His eldest brother, Christian Crown runs a few strands of clubs and hotels. The middle brother, Khalil Crown is the maker and designer of the Crown. A car luxury brand, which became as popular as BMWs, Teslas, Lamborghinis, Mercedes and other car brands in just its first year of being produced. Soon enough they became on the same level as Rolls Royce, Lambos and other luxury cars. I do have to admit Crown cars are sexy as fuck.

“Thank you, Everett. I—“ She halted. There, on the dimly lit porch, was the mutilated body of a crow. Blood smeared the door, welcome mat, and entryway. The wings were bent at an unnatural angle. A bloody bouquet of wolfsbane lay on the dead bird’s chest.

He jumps out of the car and circles it to open the door for me. Instead of going into the manor, Ren leads me around the building, where a wedding party is going on. People all dressed beautifully wander around, talking and laughing between each other while they sip wine from their tall stemmed glasses. The theme is lavender and white, which makes sense considering the dress Ren supplied me with. “Who is this for?” I ask, as we merge into the group. As we walk past, slightly tipsy women nudge at Ren, make comments about his appearance while most stare from a distance. I’m not surprised, considering Ren is an Alpha and also rather attractive. However, he doesn’t seem to take much notice.
