Cedric could only wondered about the things that would happen next. He could see a new expression coming out from Virginia. She looked like a villain who was born from a kind person who got hurt by her surroundings. Cedric did not seem to hate that new Virginia but he preferred the good side of Virginia.

But on blood. As she saw that look in Scarlet’s eyes, that desperate look, the look of a wild animal, somehow she knew what she was thinking: she had to get out. To escape. Through that door. To sink her teeth into something. It was at that moment that she knew, without a doubt, that Scarlet was indeed a vampire. And that she, Caitlin, had once been one, too. And that everything that Aiden had said was true. Scarlet was the last remaining vampire. And Caitlin had to stop her from spreading it to the world.

He wasn’t the best with emotional control, something she now used to her benefit. “SHOW SOME DAMN RESPECT, YOU UNCLEAN BITCH!” he hollered at her, fists clenched hard, his veins popping and knuckles turning white. “Respect is earned, not demanded. You might want to be careful with who you call a bitch,” Vi stated slowly, each word dripping with venom. Vi’s hybrid aura – both Fae and werewolf – seeped out from her, weaving around us in a protective barrier. He swallowed hard when he felt her power.

Alaric said from the side of the pool. Violet held her breath and went back into the pool. Alaric was surprised. What sort of lunatic was this girl with purple hair? He looked into the pool and shook his head when he saw that she was looking for her wig. Alaric shook his head and sighed. “Keitan's killer association has really lost their touch, how can they send such a weakling here.” Violet seemed to have no intent of going back up, she kept going down and it was beginning to annoy Alaric. He lifted his finger and Violet was pulled out of the water and onto the spot beside Alaric's feet.

All the while, I thought about how well the pieces fit together, how perfect of a picture they painted. Violet and Arianna drinking together, the pale-haired menace letting her true feelings about Blaze slip past her pouty lips, not knowing who Arianna was or what she’d been through, that in giving her this information she essentially put a target on Blaze’s back. It was truly a wonder she hadn’t killed him, though I’m sure it wasn’t from a lack of trying.
