FANGS

"And don't try any thing funny. You might be fast, but I'm sure that this arrow will definitely make it into the chest of one of you before you get to the both of us, and I don't think you want that" They all hesitated. They were five vampires and their opponent were just two Men, Samson thought They could take them down easily but they were not just humans. They were also hunters and no matter how fast they moved, the man was right. One of them could end up with one of those wooden arrows in the heart. Samson didn't know if he was willing to take that risk with any of his friends. "Let's do as they say" he whispered, as he tried to come up with a plan in his head. They would have done as t

Hale Academy: University of Sui Generis

Hale Academy: University of Sui Generis

John asked as he stood up from where he’d been writing something on the floor, with chalk. “Rare, but then again rarer still are the demons and gods”, she muttered, “The common supreme beings happen to be chimeras, Kitsune, Hydras, Medusa, Kraken, a lot of nymphs and sirens, a lot of Greek mythologies if I had to be pedantic. Oh! Your homeroom teacher Mr. Edwards is a Leviathan, and his wife is a siren I think, we’ve had the first werewolf too; The Beast of Gévaudan and Fenrirs too, a Minotaur and Basilisks. I personally have known three different Basilisks”, she listed as she tried to recall the different Ascendants she’d met. “I thought if one existed, another Ascendant of the same kind co

’ I say and lunge toward it, striking it across the throat, only for it to vanish and reappear moments later. ‘What!’ I say, stepping back. Someone claps behind me. I turn to face a man stepping out from the shadows towards me with a smile. ‘It’s not very often someone attempts to strike and kill my pet Blood Dwellers,’ he says and holds his hands, palms down beside him. Black demonic dogs flicker, appearing under his hands. He pats them gently. They have fangs three times as long as vampires. I watch as the Blood Dwellers twitch and flicker as if they are apparitions. Their eyes are red, blood red. The same eyes that had surrounded Micah and me. The Blood Dwellers are real.

They were also highly connected and could easily destroy anyone with a snap of their fingers. Back then, I feared that I would be jumping from frying pan to fire, so I remained with Hale. Now, Anthony's words chilled me to the bone. Was he really affiliated with the Black Scorpions or just claiming to be? But being a Black Scorpion would explain why he was such an outstanding man. "Seeing the expression on your face, I can bet you have heard of the Black Scorpions. Then, have you heard about Queen Scorpion?" He asked. I nodded, "Yes I have."

Ancalagon: The Last Pure Dragon

Ancalagon: The Last Pure Dragon

But now here I am again, with yet another high-ranking supernatural who thinks that the Alpha of Alphas belongs to him. I glare at the elf as he begins pulling on his earth element. How do any of them think that they can defeat me? Not only am I the Alpha of Alphas, but I can control all four elements. Who do they think they are? Even if they can control one, what does that matter to me? They are nothing. I am Ancalagon. I wait to see what he's going to do, how he thinks he can claim me with his earth element. It's bad enough that he only has one element, but I come by my earth element genetically from my father Avani, the last Earth dragon.

Great book. Just love the series as well as the others books by this Author. Cooper just has a way of writing and drawing you in to where you don't want to stop reading until you reach the end just as a great author should be :)

This book is a tear jerker, but also touching. It has a fabulous balance of adventure and emotion. All the pieces come together. Cooper set this series up with great skill. I could not read fast enough. Waiting for a chapter to post was brutal. Brilliant

"Brandur is one. You remember he is called The Destroyer?" She fought back the gratifying smile that tugged at her lips with his growing unease. Maybe she could scare him enough into abandoning his plan and tell her where baby Brand was before the wolves caught up to them. "And they are not just regular wolves," she continued. "They are the size of the legendary Dire wolves. Brand's wolf comes almost up to my shoulder on his flat feet. His teeth are as fearsome as the Háhyrnir (killer whale) that roamed our sea."

Nine Ungrateful Sisters

Nine Ungrateful Sisters

In theory, the same method could have applied there as well. Yet not every Archon had died from illness. Accidents and violence were just as likely. Disease was only one possibility among many. "I've heard it said that the Archon title is a curse woven into destiny itself," Oscar said. Boreas gave a slow nod. "So have I. The oldest records say that before the world took shape, humanity did not yet exist. The first beings to emerge from the forces of creation were three ancient races: dragon, phoenix, and chimera.

Bound to the Sovereign Alpha

Bound to the Sovereign Alpha

The horns of the Sunken Empire wailed through the night fog, their brassy, mechanical notes reverberating off the hollow ribs of the ancient stone dragons. Out past the barrier reef, the silhouette of High Archon Morvath’s lead war-galley loomed—a dark, low-slung vessel propelled by four tiers of ash-wood oars and armored with black bronze plating. Behind it, a dozen smaller shadow-sloops moved like wolves through the shallow volcanic breakers.

Shadowed Creatures

Shadowed Creatures

Swallowing a large lump in my front I grappled with the right term, “You, changed? You had horns?” “My demon nature Avalon. Over the centuries we have learnt to tame our true selves, but what you saw was the curse that God placed on all of our kind for rising against him.” His tone would suggest that this was the most normal thing in the world, to him I guess it was. For me this was definitely not normal. On the other hand, It wasn’t exactly as if I was completely ignorant to the world of creatures. So why was I so surprised that demons were able manifest themselves into something that was so representative of their name?

She tried to engage him in a conversation, so that she could go outside and look at them closely for a moment. “Really?” He didn’t leave her a step. He supposed that if he let her leave, she wouldn't be back soon. Besides, Alex might be lurking somewhere in the garden. “They appeared before the Ice Age, in the Tertiary. They formed enormous forests. Could you imagine a forest of blooming magnolias? Must look amazing!” She dreamed. “Later it was the Ice Age that destroyed them. They only survived in the Far East and North America.” "That's probably why they're so resistant to frost." He added, watching her closely.
