Wolf Paws was at full steam after Sera’s group left. The school was a source for wolves that could be controlled and transformed. Director Dawood ordered that protections against and entry of enemies be made, with the help of Elora Abiyoe. The ground was slick with blood, and the once-pristine white snow was stained crimson. Archer’s massive wolf, a dark and imposing creature, was locked in combat with a hybrid, but the creature was too fast, too strong. Archer’s wolf roared, but it was cut short as the hybrid lunged for his throat. His teeth sank into Archer’s shoulder, and the Alpha’s wolf bucked, throwing the creature off just in time to avoid a fatal blow.

The Riverclaw Beta emerged from the shadows with a wild boar clamped in his jaw. He walked toward me, slow, deliberate, his eyes challenging. The pack’s murmurs turned into hushed confusion. He stopped right beside Conan and dropped the boar beside the stag.

"It's nothing. I'll heal." Arnold came over, his face creased with concern. "Those were wolves from the Shadow Pack," he said. "What were they doing here?”
