Archview High was a high school situated in the town of Archview, a small town located at the seaside. At first glance, one would expect the small town to be like any other, but it held supernatural secrets: humans who shared genetic codes with wolves. They roamed everywhere, hiding in plain sight to the otherwise normal people of Archview. They were on the streets, in the supermarkets, even in churches They were called werewolves. And Elise was one of them. Except, she was different. The wolves had a hierarchy of power. The strongest remained at the top, acquiring the best social status and political power within Archview, while the bottom feeders were the laughing stock.

Pasha asked, thinking a little. - Honestly? the guy hesitated. - How many people do not tell: do not go into the forest, but they still stick around! And so it has always been. If I was going to learn about the world I was in, I needed to ask questions. “I will tell you, but it is not something openly talked about in the packs.” She begins. “So basically, not everyone who is in the pack has access to a wolf like you and Luka do. In the past everyone who has wolf shifter DNA had a wolf. But in the past 25 years. Less have actual wolves, just heighten abilities. “What does that even mean?” I asked confused. “No one really knows. Omegas were the first ones to lose access to wolves. There hasn’t been omega with a wolf in 20 years I think. But ones who had wolves at first started losing them 15 years ago.” Alex explained.

I tell them. “Good,” my father says. “Jax, inform the remaining alphas to return another day—including Alpha Caleb and Luna Marcie.” Jax nods. Moments later, three large black wolves emerge from the forest. They shift behind the trees and step forward fully dressed. We exchange bows before introductions begin. Two are mated. One is younger—newly an Alpha. We talk briefly. And we wait. “For Herk?” one of them mutters. “I’ve heard he’s not the most trustworthy Alpha.”

The Silas wolf was a dirty brown color and I watched in horror as its broad line-backer shoulders deflated into such profound disappointment it was all I could do not to rage at it. “I don't understand why yer wouldn't let us have our fun with the little birdie! We share all our spoils with you! What's so special about this one?” He whined bitterly, turning his scary red eyes to flash me with a hateful look until I recoiled from the beast. “Shut up and get out. This one isn't meant for sharing.” Alpha Toph growled possessively and for once I was grateful for the wicked Alpha because the other wolf cursed loudly, banging what sounded like knives and metal around in the darkness as I stretched

"It's the grimoire of my people." He narrowed his ice-blue eyes. "so, you're an Arctic Wolf." It was more of a statement than a question. "Yes," I replied, folding my arms across my chest. "Who are you?" "I'm Rolf, Alpha of The Winterborn Pack." His lips curled into a smile as he liftedhis eyebrows. "May I come in?" "Yes, of course." But I didn't budge from behind the counter. "Do Elias and Xander know you're here?"
