My name is Mercury Roderick. I have been mute since childhood. I was told by my mom that I didn't cry like other babies when she put me to bed. Kimmy turned to Jessie, after seeing them exchanging a few words. "The usual, let get to the haunted house." Jessie pulled her away. "What is so bad about mermaids? I feel like people are staring at me." Kimmy crossed her arms over for chest. "Well, mermaids aren't like in the Little Mermaid, but more like Ursula. They are generous lovers, who eat their partners after." "I never wanted to believe it, but now I do." Kimmy sighed. "Well, at least I'm pretty."

Frankie pleaded, making Ariel sigh and put her lava lamp into her bag. "Okay, let's go home." Ariel said. Ariel and Frankie walked out of the junkyard; they crossed over Deadmans bridge. Her momma had told her the bridge was made back when she was a child and men, women, even children would die there whether it be accidental, or intentional. haha We have come close to the three mermaids. The bald one has a wound in the chest and the other is holding a spear made of rusted iron with a tentacle-like head. The water was mixed with blood and suddenly I was nervous because aren't sharks sensitive to blood? What if the MEG is here? That might just turn us into a toothpick. The two mermaids looked at us and suddenly their mouths opened without a sound. They seem to be talking but we can't hear anything!

Sapphire told me a story once, about a group of sea creatures that were solely dedicated to evil and their evil queen who sought nothing but to claim every ocean and destroy other life forms that aren't her species. They call themselves Mirties Perlai and were another race of mermaids. They didn't have tails and possessed incredible powers. The queen was extremely evil but the other sea creatures led by the sea king attacked them and they were destroyed. The queen got away and lived with humans for the rest of her days.

The three mermaids exchange a look and then Selene turns back to Radar and me. “Just a moment,” she says. The mermaids duck their heads under the water, facing each other. I’m not positive, but I think they’re communicating with one another. Speaking is obviously hard for them—they probably communicate more easily underwater. Without the mermaids to distract me, I suddenly realize how cold I am. I hug my arms across my chest, trying to warm myself. Even so, I begin to shiver. I hope the mermaids resurface quickly. I don’t know how much more of the cold I can take.
