While he managed to avoid dealing with curious coworkers, there was still one person he couldn’t escape—Argo. Over Christmas and New Year, Argo had gone skiing with friends at a remote cabin in the very north, where cell service was practically nonexistent. The entire point of the trip had been to disconnect from the world. Little did he know that, because of this, he had missed out on one of the biggest breaking news stories of the season. As soon as Argo was on his way back this morning and his phone reconnected to the network, the first thing that popped up was: "ALERIC WINFIELD HOSPITALIZED IN ACCIDENT – MYSTERIOUS WOMAN BY HIS SIDE."

He looks at me murdereously, making me smirk, I didn't even know that anything of that sort was happening. "Well, you can call the all night service, they'll bring gas as long as you have money." The amarya comes out of her room, scratch that; mine and Abdul's former room. I click a glance in her direction, just saying the salam. She gives me a look that immediately makes me wish I had kept quiet and walked away at the same time. "Ab darling, is this her? The Uwargida?" Numbness settled over me, it was all I could do to breathe, to stay awake. The bastard flipped my skirts up, and started unbuttoning his pants. I had to stop this, I had to move to do something. Moving my fingers through over the forest floor I felt around in the dirt for anything to save myself with. I only found a small stick, no longer than a dinner fork but sharp enough to cut my fingers on. Hope bloomed in my chest, I could stop him, I would stop him. Maybe the heavens had heard my prayer and sent an angel to come rescue me. “Stop berating the child, Anna” The voice came, I snapped my head to see who the angel was and it was my grandpa. I rushed towards him and gave him a big hug. Maybe it was the weight of everything that had happened the past few days, but I couldn't take it anymore I broke down in tears, clinging to my safe space.

Argo added as he saw Kira grimace when she swallowed the daily dose. “Is there anything else?” Kira asked, ignoring his question. “Staying happy is the key, you know, my lady,” Argo smiled politely. Kira, who felt nowhere remotely happy, smiled back at him. “If you need any help or assistance, I am here, all you need to do is howl, like literally,” Aron grinned, picked up the empty potions bottles and left with a bow.

“It’s not just a breach. It’s a probe. Daniel’s testing Argos.” Philip stepped forward. “If Argos fails…” “He won’t,” Aria snapped. “Run the counter-stream.” The monitors flared to life. Argos, coded to think like Daniel, was now in a real-time battle with his former master. The AI pulsed code across the mainframe, simulated personalities, counter-malware, shifting encryption webs. Each second felt like a heartbeat at war. “Argos is holding,” Isabelle muttered. “But barely.” Suddenly, the feed blinked. One word flooded the screen.

Ella flipped her hair over her shoulder as she sat straighter. I blew out an exasperated sigh, seeing as there was no point arguing with Ella. If Ella told you the sun was green, You'd do well to believe her. It was like arguing with a wall that had ears. Just as we're about to take a turn to where my apartment was, I remembered. I suddenly hit the breaks causing El and I to be thrown off our seats. The car behind us honked loud as the man driving yelled at us. "Returning it wouldn't have been a problem if you asked nicely. I know we picked more than enough clothes but did you have to almost kill me before you made your point clear?" Ella asked and I stared at her confused.

She just couldn’t think of any better excuse after he called her dramatic. She moved the mouse to log out of her account, grabbed her things, and stood up. But before she could walk away, the guy grabbed her arm. “My armpits don’t stink!”

He looks at space and memories of Elizabeth filled his mind. “Mira, I need to go” he announced, running back to his car. Mira stood outside the prison’s facility till Craig showed up. “How is he?” She asked him curiously. “He is fine. He asked me to give you this”. Craig handed Gerald’s bracelet to her before walking to his car.
