I turned. “Enter.” An unfamiliar young man entered--tall, with his head bent in good style, respectfully. In his hands he had a piece of silk rolled up. “I was sent by Alpha Xavier to bring this. He said you should put it on. It was made for you specifically.” I knit my brows. “Really? He did not say so when I saw him this morning.” I was summoned in distress. “He told me to see that you put this on before the ceremony.”

I gestured for Alpha Tennyson who had momentarily arrived for the wedding. We both sat down. "Thank you, so tell me, how has it been getting to know your bride my daughter?" Alpha Tennyson began. I clenched his jaw as I faced the older Alpha across my desk. In as much I needed Tennyson's army, I hated this arrangement, this forced marriage to a girl I barely knew and didn't care for.
