I did a little twirl in the middle of the room and started combing the bookshelves to see what treasures I could find. I was just too excited to have found this place. I came across a smaller leather-bound book that had a weird symbol on the front and when I opened it, I realized that it was a history of the Hunter's. I decided to keep that book just in case I needed it. I was totally in my own world when I felt someone’s arms go around me and breath in my ear. "I see you found my favorite place in the house." My body shivered at the contact. I thought that I was going to melt into a puddle right then and there.

Bella and Victor walked downstairs hand-in-hand to find that the ritual stage had already been set. Hunter was holding the red book they'd taken from Arthur's room in one hand and using it as a reference for the chalk diagram he was drawing on the hardwood floor in front of the main entrance. It looked like the rudimentary figure of a man surrounded by some sort of star polygon. In the upper right corner, a sun with a weeping face shone down on the figure. Afraid to break his concentration, they stayed silent. Ulric wasn't there yet, and it didn't seem like anyone else had been invited. An intimate gathering, to be sure.

Jonathan smiled, tearing the remains of his shirt off to show a breastplate of silver underneath. Nick pounced on Jonathan, and he kicked Nick back, drawing his pants' leg up to reveal a holster. He drew a stiletto out from it, and jumped on Nick. Nick tried to shake him off, but Jonathan grabbed on to his fur and stabbed him in the torso with the knife, dragging it down. Nick howled as his skin ripped, the pain twice as much because the knife was made of silver. Jonathan was about to stab him again, when out of nowhere, a lycanthrope hit him from behind and dragged him away from Nick, throwing him with such force that he crashed into a faraway tree.
