Brianna and Landon laugh as the bailiff enters with his handcuffs pulled out, ready to slap them on my wrists. My eyes widen at the judge’s words while my pulse quickens as the bailiff gets closer. Just then, the door swings open, hitting the wall behind it, and standing in the newly opened space in his designer three-piece suit, taking up the entire door frame, is Arthur. “Judge Bryan, order your lackey to stand down. Now,” Arthur commands. His voice is low and dangerous.

I reached the stairs leading to deck three, intending to free the captives below, when I felt someone's attention lock onto my position with unnatural accuracy. Evan, his obsession somehow allowing him to sense me even when invisible, moved to intercept. "I know where you are, Aria. I can always feel you." He lunged toward my position, his hands reaching for empty air. I sidestepped but his fingers brushed my arm, and the contact was enough to disrupt my concentration. Mila took back her body, got dressed and spoke, “Thanks Grace, that is a start, at least.” And turning her invisible again, she rushed towards Arthur.

Arthur whispered, his voice barely audible, “I can’t... let go...” Mira glanced at him, her expression softening with pity. “Hold on, Arthur. I’m going to get you through this.” Tony leaned closer, his hand resting on Arthur’s shoulder. “Stay with us, Arthur. Don’t let them win.” Arthur didn’t respond. He couldn’t. The darkness was too strong, too tempting. The hallucinations came in waves—memories distorted into nightmares, familiar faces twisted with malice. Elara’s face floated before him, but this time, her eyes were cold, accusing. She whispered his name, but it wasn’t in love; it was in contempt.

Lumiére muttered, attempting to clarify his intentions. Arin couldn't help but snort in disbelief at Lumiére's claim.
