Something shiny and metallic pressed against the window and facing the van directly. My stomach sank and I cursed. It was a bazooka. “shit!” My hands moved with lightning. With one hand on the wheel ,the other hand reached for the rifle on my holster and I waited for the right opening as I aimed through my windscreen. The man in the black cruiser was masked behind dark goggles. The bazooka was balanced on the edge of the car window, pointed at the van. I aimed at his skull, my jaw ticking in rage. I fired before he could even think of pulling the trigger.

I heard the fast footsteps of the warriors approaching the throne from a distance, their Alpha must have signaled them. I enjoyed the look he'd worn on his face, a very much familiar look, the look of fear that every wolves that hears my name felt, “ I don't have time not do I like to be asked to wait.”I said in a more guttural tune, squeezing the life out of their Alpha, with his eyes wide as he choked. The warriors swung in, heading towards their Alpha. Some ran in their wolf forms while some were in possession of weapons, “Unless you want Claw City Park to conduct a mass burial, tell your subjects to stand down.” I cautioned.

She blinks, breaking the spell of inertia holding her, and I'm moving forward, filled with determination. The gun feels heavy in my hand as I open the shower door and step inside. Ash seems oblivious to my entry, but that can only be a ruse because nothing gets past him. As he turns, I realize this is my chance, so I cock the gun and point it straight at the back of his head. "Don't move!" He stiffens. That lasts for only a second before he's turning round to look at me. At first, he pierces me with a cold gaze, and then he speaks. "If you hold a gun to someone's head, you better be prepared to use it."

Unfortunately she did it already and was pressed against the door while she marveled at the house she would be living in. "You like it?" He questioned as he immediately began to growl, scenting the presence of other males. His hand went to her shoulder pulling her into him, as a group of males approached them. War immediately identified the group of four. More men who were deemed 'warriors' like him and Trent, but much younger. In reality they were just contracted killers...lower levels. Tier 3 killers and hunters. Trent and War were level 1, able to track and kill down most rogues that elite lycans wanted dead. Joshua reported, as they reached the bottom of the stairs, and headed towards the double doors of the mansion. Asher opened the door, and at the base of the steps, the warrior laid dead. "There's something else." Joshua added, as he passed the Alpha, and beckoned him towards the body. Asher approached the dead warrior. His eyes were still open. Joshua crouched near the warrior's head and pulled the collar of his shirt to reveal a unique marking on his neck. Two tiny dots that resembled teeth marks. More specifically, sharp fangs. Asher looked at the wound carefully, his mouth running sour, his stomach churning with a queasy motion. He pursed his lips, and cursed under his breath, before clos

I melted into his touch. "I proved my worth to all of you. It's time all of you do it, and then I will hand-pick my team. Each one of you will duel with me, the longer you keep standing on your feet, the more chance you have of finding yourself on my team. Let's do this." Asher let me form my rules to choose among his warriors. No one lasted more than two minutes. I selected the ones who did while trying to think out of the box as they tackled me instead of blindly charging towards me like mindless hulks.

The determination laced in his words was undeniable as he spoke, his gaze bored into space in a fierce intensity. His lips curled upwards as anger burnt within him, and I could see just how much he really wanted to consume his enemy in his burning wrath. His mood had greatly been affected by the shocking discovery; the fierce determination etched on his face was undeniable as he resolved to get back at them. But then, I knew he was yet to grasp the gravity of what he had just said—the intensity of the situation. War was coming, and it wasn't going to be as easy as he thought.

“If I’m going to bleed for this war, I want to see who I’m bleeding for.” Silence. Then a quiet voice behind us said, “She’s right.” We turned. Asher stood in the doorway, arms crossed, eyes dark. He walked in slowly, every inch of him still radiating that quiet, dangerous control he always carried like a second skin. “If we keep pretending the danger’s somewhere else, we’ll lose this war before we even start,” he said. “Let her come.” Mason looked between us. “You’re both insane.” “Probably,” I said with a grin.

“You are the one thing Delgado can’t predict.” Her stomach flipped. “You are serious?” “Dead serious. You shook him, Ash. Every time he tries to move, you are already ahead of him.” She swallowed. “I didn’t do it alone.” “No,” Ace said. “But you are the reason we are still standing.” Ashley didn’t know what to say. “I am glad you made it back,” she murmured. Ace’s smirk softened. “Yeah?” “Yeah.” “This war is going to break a lot of people,” he said quietly. “I just needed to make sure it wouldn’t break you.”
